If that were MY son… ugh!
^And this is The problem, people are at this moment putting there ass on the line. Over 4000 men an women Dead, you have the person placed in charge of your country in front of you.
You can listen, Protest, yell, scream, applaud, fart whatever you want. What do you do.
Duuuuuuuuu boring is boring I’m going to sleep.
So yeah. I had planned on watching this because two of my roommates and quite a few of my friends went to Kalamazoo Central as well. I had to get in a workout right during the speech. When I got back, we watched the Tivo’d recording and saw this.
It’s pretty embarassing considering the President CHOSE to come speak at this graduation ceremony.
Well the funny thing about this is that Obama Goes to give a speech at a school and they couldn’t find 15 reasonably bright young individuals who would kill to sit through something like this. It actually says a bunch about Obama. If he gave a speech at my Highschool you would literally have nerds in fistfights for the chance at sitting on stage with him.
So however this kid got on stage, either the school is representing the best of the best and this is just all they can muster, or the faculty are fucking retards. Either way, somehow El Presidente decided these people were worthy of a visit by the most powerful man in the world. I don’t know how anyone could ever question his judgement again.
V
Whats that? You want me to sit on stage 10 ft away from the most powerful man on the planet while he gives a 10 minute speech? BOOOOOORING! zzz zzz zzz.
Hey Billy, do you want to be up on stage when the president gives the graduation address tomorrow?
Huh? The president of what?
You know, The President Of the United States, THAT President.
Uh, well I guess so, How long is it going to be for?
Billy this is THE President, he can take as long as he wants.
Uhhh, Well what if I get sleepy or have to go to the bathroom?

By the way - the kid wasn’t graduating, he was in the choir.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH, OK, not sure if that is better or Worse. I remember when my brother went into the Army and my mother was nervous because it was at the end of the Vietnam War(conflict my ass). Any one of us would have LOVED to had a chance to be that close to the guy in charge, if for no other reason to express an opinon good or bad.
I understand the whole respect aspect and how we look to the world. But what I can’t get over is this seems to be cool. A kid can’t stay sharp long enough to represent his family to the world in front of his country’s leader and GROWN ups are getting a kick out of it.
Like him don’t like him that is your choice. HE is still the leader of your country. And if this was the 60’s/70’s you can bet your ass that young people along with grown men and women would damn real be paying attention.
If the collective intelligence level on this site is indicative of a cross section of our population, I fear for our future.
Who’s commencement was so important Barack himself showed up? Was this Yale or Harvard or something?

Kalamazoo Central High School… there was a nationwide competition to find the school best representing Obama’s plan to have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world by 2020. They won because they had a video of students of various nationalities saying they are going to college in their native language. Kind of ironic, don’t you think?

Damn right…Yeah it’s usually BO embarassing the USA on behalf of himself, rather than some kid embarassing the USA.
Bottom line, it’s this kids parents who don’t have their act together enough to give the kid some basic manners.

Interesting…that the fact that this kid now represents “American youth” in general to the rest of the world phases you none…as long as you get to laugh at the president for something.
That sounds downright unpatriotic…but what do I know.

…which is interesting considering some of the same people laughing seem to be the same ones who want America to return to about the era of the 60’s and 70’s.

Oh it absolutely phases me and I do my best to make sure my kids show respect in all areas, and do not associate with said “Youth” today as much as possible, so we are on the same page with that.
Also, I did not find this a funny event either, rather I wanted to point out that the distain you have for this child and his act on the world stage is probably the same or an equal type of distain (Dissapointment?) I have with how our current President represents the USA on the world stage and even domestically, which I know you don’t agree with, but that’s OK.

C’mon ID…don’t revert back to the “bush” stuff. It’s a new age, an Obama age…live in IT, not Bush’s age.
And you are right, bush said stupid shit a lot, but I knew who he was and what the goals were. He sucked in the following ways:
-He was a fiscal Socialist and Liberal spender in big Government.
-Patriot Act (Argueable)
-Worked toward a New World Order
- Used Powell and WMD to sell the war.
Other than that, he was pretty good

I can understand someone not liking the person that has been placed in charge. I have had issues with several past presidents. And itâ??s the American way to voice those disagreements and concerns.
However I see on a daily basis the blatant disrespect people show for the Office. And that is what’s being done when people decide to go and buffoon the Name of OUR and if you are a citizen he is OUR “President” (last name or full name).
Then go walking around like they are proud with all the nick names or little abbreviations of his name they create to show the world how comical they are when all we look like to the world is disrespectful to OURSELVES.
The MAN your disrespecting is NOW in charge of the country that protects them and the people that puts there ass on the line for them to be able to show such disrespect.
Respect the Office even if you don’t the Man.

It’s funny because it was supposed to be different this time. Yet, here we are with an eerily similar first few years as the last 8. Lets see, unpopularity, check, botched response to a huge environmental dissaster, check, horrible economic policies that are continuing to stagnate the economy, check. Look, Bush screwed up, a LOT, and it was funny then. Funny and sad at the same time but still funny. You expect all of us who laughed at Bush to somehow NOT laugh when President hope and change has things go wrong for him?
This is exactly like the story about the king who had no clothes. Now I am laughing because the tea parties are shouting from the rooftops that the king has no clothes and more and more people are realising, hey he really doesn’t just have magical invisible clothing. BTW bush had no clothes either, so you can call me a hack, but I’m not a partisan hack, just a hack.

The problem here 460 is that the President is Supposed to act as a steward not a king. When they start acting like a steward, THEN I will give them the respect they deserve. Don’t ask me to respect someone who Vandalises the seat with thier occupancy of it. If the US people somehow got hoodwinked into electing a hitler type person who treid to enslave the peopel and take over the world, would you be like. Oh, well even though he is a very bad person, HE IS THE PRESIDENT. No I don’t think so.
Someone doesn’t just get respect, they need to earn it. He didn’t earn my vote and he hasn’t so far earned my respect.
