10 supersets of 30 pushups and 5 pull-ups spread throughout the day. Lets see how chest and back feel tomorrow…

I did this once with pull-ups using 5 reps throughout the day and lets just say my back and biceps were REALLY sore the next day. I put my door pull-up bar where I knew I would pass it regularly and I want to say I totaled around 165 pull ups from 3PM to 11PM. Of course it didn’t help my 2 year old son was giggling and kept telling me “Daddy do 5” the whole day. Doing that with push-ups seems pretty brutal in a good way!

Wasn’t terrible with pushups, i find pull-ups much more taxing. I believe I saw some random bodybuilder on youtube talk abt doing 300 pushups and 50 pull-ups per day prior to a competition(why I targeted these numbers), I think the volume for daily workouts may be a bit much, for me at least… Feels good after you are finished.

Nice log.
I’m just getting started with incorporating some KBs. The 15 min Duo KB workout by CoachTara looks like fun. Also, appreciate the yoga videos. I like the idea of ballet/ yoga/ pilates/ mobility work as a home practice to supplement my strength training. Thanks.

Hey, welcome aboard!
Definitely agree, yoga +/- pilates and movement systems like dance and martial arts definitely counterbalance some of the tightness and aches and pains that come with strength training. I have been approaching it from the flip side and treat strength and conditioning as my cross training (for judo and martial arts. Unfortantely it can be tough to balance it all. I know Im definitely guilty of putting too much emphasis on the cross training and forgetting the primary goal.
I’m sure you are figuring out quickly that kettlebells are barrels of fun especially once your technique starts to get good and you get into a good groove with them where you can swing together several movements back to back without slamming them into your wrists or tweaking your back, or tearing the skin of your hands.
I just saw you linked a vid of steve cotter on your log, he is definitely a great teacher for kettlebell technique and I learned a lot from both his vids up on youtube and the “kettlebell encyclopedia” app which is a fairly comprehensive video guide to basic kettlebell lifting. He is the right balance between sport kettlebell technique and kettlebell lifting for fitness. Some other kettlebell videos on youtube you may want to check out that are very informative are from Mike Mahler who is more of a barbell strength athlete that cross-trains with heavy kettlebells.
