The modern right continues to surprise me. I mean, having to think about things is hard sometimes, but it doesn’t suck THAT bad.

…but at least the posters in this thread in support of Beck have posted ACTUAL reports rather than resort to playground insults and blanket statements without actually adding any substance to these claims…apparently thinking IS hard for you.

Point is, if you’re gonna try to flame something/someone how about you lay down a fact or two rather than your own bullshit opinion … you represent an ideal (liberal … I get it) but you’re representing it quite poorly. So, how about you give me a reason WHY Beck’s an idiot and maybe provide 3 or more references to back it up … otherwise you just look like a buffoon.

Um, there was a video that speaks for itself. I could go on about things like his segments, with footage of Nazi soldiers goose stepping across the public square, and images of Hitler and swastikas, and him droning on about “fascism,” “creeping socialism,” and whatever other bullshit evil-flavor-of-the-week pejoratives he uses, and how liberty is being ERODED, MY GOD! And then, at the end of the segment, he’ll be all “Now I’m not trying to compare the Obama administration to the Nazis, I’m just sayin’, you know?” Fucking idiot. Also, he’s totally nonpartisan, really, yeah.

He’s disingenuous, and as Olbermann points out, he’s not too bright either.

By the way, I’m not a liberal.

On the contrary I’ve found Beck to be highly articulate (try talking non-stop in coherent sentences for 2 hours) on a myriad of issues.

Of course he’s partisan I think that’s rather obvious. However, the voters don’t seem to mind. Millions of people listen to Beck and it’s apparently growing all the time as his radio program has done nothing but climb in the ratings over the past 6 months.

He’s certainly entertaining and if memory serves the word “entertainment” is spoken of at the beginning of every show.

One final point, the country can thank Glenn Beck for helping to expose Van Jones one of many ultra left wing radicals, and a racists (whites are poisoning the black community) that surround President Obama.

He’s entertaining, informative and most importantly usually correct on the issues.

See that Ryan … that’s how you make a point. Well thought out, poignant, concise and not full of mud slinging plus full of easy verifiable facts. Now let’s see you try.

China used a stimulus package. Ok, but they also had the capitol to be able to do so on their own. They didnt have to borrow the money like America does
They have a budget deficit of about $140 billion this year. Small compared to ours, but they definitely borrowed that money.

Oh, I thought they were socialist? Which is it?

Stimulus has to be deficit-financed to work, otherwise you’re just taking money from one place and putting it in another.

The main thing that helped them was that they already had many large-scale public works programs in progress that they could simply resume with the stimulus money. We, on the other hand, had to scramble to put a bunch of them together.

Like yourself.

Why you dont show where the free market works for anyone except the wealthy? many of those who achieve are doing it off the backs of the working poor in this country. There’s millions of people busting there asses and living paycheck to paycheck without health care or any hope of retirement. Maybe you should show them a little appreciation for there sacrifice instead of calling them lazy asses, selfish ass.

Don’t waste your time.

Would you two please compare the living conditions of the poor to those of the poor in capitalist societies now before posting stuff like that?

Back then they were working the fields withs sticks, now they have color tv and air condition.

It is exactly the poor who have benefitted the most from capitalism, the wealth of the rich is just a side show and a necessary condition for the poors incredible luck.

Since even Marx was able to see that I think you could take his word over mine or even do your own research about living conditions in pre industrial revolution England.
The “dark satanic mills” was just a rhetorical flourish, I suppose?

Did you read the post? That was one of his segments you dolt. I didn’t write down the fucking date of the broadcast when I saw it, so that later I could tell you EXACTLY which one it was. Since you watch him, you ought to know better than me.

You a college kid? Probably. I’ve worked around the poor and there are only two reasons why poverty is sustained for a great period of time in a family unit. Stupid and lazy.

I’ve treated app. 1000 people or more on medicaid and they do not have their crap together. They are the exception, not the rule. Maybe 10 or so were actually useful citizens. Or about one every two years I’ve worked.
As middle class manufacturing jobs continue to dissapear and a college education gets more and more expensive and out of reach of many that group of citizens you deem useless is going to get larger. I also didnt mention anything about the poor, I said people working making just enough to get by.
As far as my life experience goes; I was a college kid 8 yrs ago, then I joined the Marine Corps and now I’m in construction so why dont you save the condascending bullshit.

Why are manufacturing jobs leaving?
Why is student tuition going up?
