Keith Olberman Goes after Beck

Why you dont show where the free market works for anyone except the wealthy? many of those who achieve are doing it off the backs of the working poor in this country. There’s millions of people busting there asses and living paycheck to paycheck without health care or any hope of retirement. Maybe you should show them a little appreciation for there sacrifice instead of calling them lazy asses, selfish ass.
Don’t waste your time.

I was talking about the one YOU posted. Now, any parallels between Nazi Germany and the US under the Obama administration are not the issue here. You’re free to draw them. If you notice, however, that’s not what I was objecting to. He draws them, and then tries to deny that he’s comparing them. He airs his hate speech, and then tries to distance himself from it. It’s that, and his attempt to portray himself as just some regular, non-partisan guy that I object to. He’s the same type of far-right hack as the rest of the cast at Fox News.

As for some of this other stuff:

“I also know enough to know that socialism hasn’t worked in any of the countries that its been tried in.”

Oh really? You know that? What other things do you “know?”

“As a matter of fact even socialist China’s economy is rockin right now because they have LESS taxes and government involvement in their free market. Maybe if we did the same unemployment would go down.”

Hmmm…This would be a good experiment, if it were true. China is rebounding because of, surprise, its giant stimulus package–$586 billion, or about 13% of GDP. To get the same effect, we would had to have spent about $1.8 trillion on stimulus (though I’m not saying we should have–that would have been overkill, as we were faced with approximately a 6% shortfall in GDP, which would make the “correct” amount about $840 billion). The government is involved less? In China, government spending will account for 80% of the country’s growth this year.

Every time you post we waste time stumbling over it to move on to a more intelligent comment. You are truly PWI’s “All bark, no bite” poster. In other words, a lot of bluster with no intellect to back it up.
Says Mr. “Abortion = slavery?”

Yeah we want to be like china, work camps, one child etc. good ole communist China.

Get a job, or run a business and live in the real world for once. See how all your stupid theories work or how they impact your livelihood and then get back to me.

He’s just mad because he wasn’t born in China and he can’t afford to move there.

Sorry boys, but it was your fellow DB Jawawa that made the China reference, not Ryan. He was simply responding and making a point as to why Jawawa was (as usual) totally full of shit.

Olbermann is a pompous gasbag, but Glenn Beck is a raving idiot. I actually think Beck is dangerous… if there’s another Timothy McVeigh out there planning something, I guarantee he’s being egged on by Glenn Beck.

Show me one place in the world where Libertarianism works? It’s such utter bullshit, it doesn’t even work on paper.

Step 1: Dismantle the federal government
Step 2: ???
Step 3: TEH AWSOME

Dennis Kucinich has a better chance at being elected president than Ron Paul does. And if you aren’t pro-choice on abortion in every circumstance, or totally against school prayer, then you’re not a libertarian.

When has he ever denied that he compares Obama to Hitler?
Where’s the hate speech at?
Socialism sure isn’t working in Cuba either.
China used a stimulus package. Ok, but they also had the capitol to be able to do so on their own. They didnt have to borrow the money like America does because they make just about everything that everyone around the world buys. So, how do you think they got to the point of being able to have that 586 billion to spare? Free market. They aren’t gong into debt like we are. They used the tried and true method of increased production and a high rate of personal savings. So in essence they (the government) borrowed the money from the people, who actually had cash in the bank.(I’ll try to find so referances from Peter Schiff)I also would like to know how they spent the stimulas money to spur their economy because their stimulas plan works.

I think we’d be in much better shape if our economy was like China’s. The other parts we could do without.

When is Glenn Beck going to speak out about how THE GOVERNMENT IS FLUORIDATING OUR WATER???

I guess that’s coming up later.

I love how all these idiots who haven’t even listened to him try and tell us who listen what he is talking about.

Would you two please compare the living conditions of the poor to those of the poor in capitalist societies now before posting stuff like that?

Back then they were working the fields withs sticks, now they have color tv and air condition.

It is exactly the poor who have benefitted the most from capitalism, the wealth of the rich is just a side show and a necessary condition for the poors incredible luck.

Since even Marx was able to see that I think you could take his word over mine or even do your own research about living conditions in pre industrial revolution England.

Wow, that was wrong on so many levels.

Except for school prayers.

Did Schiff just say that the Chinese worker has more capital than the American?

Did he really ask “Why are we importing things we used to make?” Without bothering to talk about wages?

I know globalization is scary and all, but the least he could do is explain some of this to the people he’s speaking too. If he has the time to explain what capital is in rudimentary terms, you’d think he’d do the same with other issues… oh well. Now people who listen to him think the American economy “Should be more like China’s” without having the vaguest understanding of what that means.

C’mon Orion, get with it!

A real Libertarian knows that ‘school prayer’ is a non-issue because the federal government shouldn’t be meddling in education. See “Separation of School and State”.

Point is, if you’re gonna try to flame something/someone how about you lay down a fact or two rather than your own bullshit opinion … you represent an ideal (liberal … I get it) but you’re representing it quite poorly. So, how about you give me a reason WHY Beck’s an idiot and maybe provide 3 or more references to back it up … otherwise you just look like a buffoon.

Um, there was a video that speaks for itself. I could go on about things like his segments, with footage of Nazi soldiers goose stepping across the public square, and images of Hitler and swastikas, and him droning on about “fascism,” “creeping socialism,” and whatever other bullshit evil-flavor-of-the-week pejoratives he uses, and how liberty is being ERODED, MY GOD! And then, at the end of the segment, he’ll be all “Now I’m not trying to compare the Obama administration to the Nazis, I’m just sayin’, you know?” Fucking idiot. Also, he’s totally nonpartisan, really, yeah.

He’s disingenuous, and as Olbermann points out, he’s not too bright either.

By the way, I’m not a liberal.
Yup, still not giving me any facts or coherent points. Still clouded arguments and diversions. Good job at proving my point. BTW I’m not interested in what Olbermann points out. If I was I’d watch his show. I’m interested in what YOU think. But then again that’s assuming you DO think, and I might have over shot the mark with that one.

Good thing we have an intellectual amoeba around like you to define libertarianism. You graduated from “See Spot Run” and “The Cat in the Hat” about two months ago and you now you want to summarize libertarianism for us, huh?
Personally Iâ??d say the US system in the early days of the constitution under Washington, Adams, Jefferson, est. was pretty darn close to the libertarian ideal, and that worked pretty well.

On the contrary I’ve found Beck to be highly articulate (try talking non-stop in coherent sentences for 2 hours) on a myriad of issues.

Of course he’s partisan I think that’s rather obvious. However, the voters don’t seem to mind. Millions of people listen to Beck and it’s apparently growing all the time as his radio program has done nothing but climb in the ratings over the past 6 months.

He’s certainly entertaining and if memory serves the word “entertainment” is spoken of at the beginning of every show.

One final point, the country can thank Glenn Beck for helping to expose Van Jones one of many ultra left wing radicals, and racists (whites are poisoning the black community) that surround President Obama.

He’s entertaining, informative and most importantly usually correct on the issues.
