Keep the damn kids off the lawn

x2. whoa.

It takes real core strength–and everywhere else strength–to hit a heavy front squat. 405 is awesome.

Thanks all. Proportinally my front squat still sucks, but it is getting better. I have a couple of training partners fs’ing in the 500s, I think just because of their leverages. I want to get mine up there sooner than later.

Where’s the vid?

Congrats. And how wonderful that it was easy.

Pete,

Absolutely ridiculous, and impressive. Do you hold the bar in the olympic style or with your arms crossed? I can only front squat like 225 but I have to cross my arms if I plan on doing any more than 1-2 reps. You are a strong freak (compliment). Oh, regarding the powerpants, I appreciate the heads up, Inzer had to back order them for me so I just cancelled that and kept the TRX, you saved me money so thanks.

nice work buddy… especially the front squat… and the 585x9 rack pull is nothing to sneeze at either.

RAW meet? Ok, that is just crazy talk now

dont know where my first post went… so this may be a double… nice fs and the 585x9 rack pulll is nothing to sneeze at either, especially as a burn set.

Raw meet? That’s just crazy talk there

Funny, I thought a week or two ago that, gee, this raw stuff is sooo much easier on the body. No, it is just different. Gear: core over taxed, CNS over taxes, forearms and weird parts; Raw: holy shit does my groin hurt from pulling, and shoulders are aching from benching and front squats. Oh well, maybe I am just a pussy.

RAWWW benching:

Reverse grip bench
140 x 10, 230 x 5, 280 x 3, 320 x 3, 370 x 3, 410 x 3 PR

dumbell bench 110s x 10, 130s x 10, x 15

CSR 6 x 8-10, last two sets with 6 plates

band pushdowns 6 x 15-30

ez curls 5 x 10-15

Todays conditioning: shovel tons of snow. This is Minnesota after all.

Good work here. Wheres your bodyweight at now with all your conditioning and dieting goining on?

Rick, I am sitting 280ish right now, down roughly 15-20lbs (given the day) from the meet late October.

congrats. your newly achieved sveltitude does not seem to have affected your strength, which is good. i run out of energy by the 2d work set nowadays, and I’m not losing anymore. obviously you are doing something right that I am not. could be hard work. i think i missed that part.

I make of point of in some way including a few more carbs before my heavy sessions. Not a lot, about 30-40 grams. That and lots of stimulants.

25 treadmill on incline
25 elliptical

while watching the Vikings do something decent…

25 minutes elliptical

wife called, she is sick, needs me to come home and takeover. no squatting tonight. which is probably good long term, hips, groin and hammies still trashed from the last couple of weeks of lifting.

Still just vaguely annoying…

Are you trying to hit the 275s for your next meet?

Snapper,
I am just trying to clock down to a better body comp, not too conscerned with scale weight. If I can feel real solid as a 308, I will go for that.

Yesterday the flu bug going through the house knocked me on my rear. Barely ate and hardly made it out of bed. After a gazillion hours of sleep, plus powerade, water, and easy things to eat feeling a little better. Got up this a.m. and did 25 minutes elliptical at a very easy pace. We shall see about lifting tonight.

upper assist

close grips 135/225/275/315 x 10

seated op 135/185/225/225 x 6 these felt good and easy, might have finally found an op variation I will stick with

dips 5 x 20

laterals 40s/50s/60s x 10

rope down/ext some x a bunch
