Keep the damn kids off the lawn

So I altered the shirt, was able to put it on by myself, but it seems to have changed the groove a little bit. Benched in it today, elbow tendinitis flared up so I didnt do much. Whats the best way to re learn the groove? Start with 3 board and work down?

and damn, sorry bout the basement flooding. My apartment flooded last semester, pretty miserable.

My basement flooded yesterday, and then the rain turned to snow and had about 4 inches of heavy wet crap. Every one on the road had their heads up their butts and my 20 minute commute took 1.5 hours.

I can commisserate. My sump pump has been running steady for 1.5 weeks. I shut it off at night and wake up to about half to an inch of water. Let it run all day. No float/check valve-- she just pumps all day (and night if I leave it on). It sucketh.

Steely, DF, thanks for the sympathy.

That being said my commute home magically was the fastest it ever has been.

Got home, changed clothes, went outside to shovel. Went to the end of the drive because that had been blocked off by the city plows. Right then guy form the church across the street riding in a Bobcat waived me out of the way. Wham, bam, end of drive done.

I have no sub-pump. My water problems are based on the saturation level of the ground, couple quotes I got for install wouldn’t guarantee resolution to the issue. Fortunately the only part that it effects I now have covered with rubber tiles (my cardio area). Shop vac’d, dehumidifier running. Should all be good.

DF, yeah, start with the three board, work your way down. Did you do a velcro strap so you can still tighten?

Thanks, I am gonna take a week off from shirted benching, then I will start with 3 and work down.

I only cut if halfway down for now, once I take it all the way down I will get some velcro straps…unless I need one for the top half?

I would add one now so that the chest plate isn’t too loose.

Back to the drawing board.

Had every intention of not going maximal, just working on form, blah blah blah. Didn’t go maximal, but went somewhere in between.

Briefs I am using right now I bought as loose training briefs when I was 30 lbs heavier. Not feeling much pop, can reach depth at any weight, but my hips and groin feel better for them.

Usual warm ups then put on briefs and did the following to the box: 325 + 100 in chains x 3, 415 + 100 in chains x 3, 465 + 100 in chains x 3, 505 + 100 in chains x 3, 555 + 100 in chains x 2

Decided to shut it down at 2. Enough left in the tank to build on this next week, w/both more bar and chain weight.

ghr 4 x 10
hang abs 4 x 10
rev hyper 1 x 10, meant to do more but kinda lost motivation, helped spot then raced home to meet the demands of over tired 4 year old to have his dad read him Berenstein bears.

boy is my butt sore from last night

lunch time with the soccer mom’s

treadmill 40/20 intervals, 10 minutes

stepper 15 minutes

elliptical 20 minutes

I will stop sweating in about 8 hours.

that’s some serious cardio. since its not loaded, does that stuff still help you with restoration?

definitely helps recovery, and mobility. and pant size.

felt beat up still a bit today.

had to do the commercial gym due to family obligations

close grips, worked up to 405 x 3, then 315 x 10

dumbbell bench 95s x 10, 125s x 10, x 10

land mine shoulder press 4 x 10

rope down/extension 4 x 15 each

random tricep extension machine 3 x 15

the 405 felt light in my hands, but awkward to move. bar path didn’t seem right, need to do some more volume raw again to get that back

This is new to me. What is it?

Thank you Captain Obvious.

jk.

Curious, whats your reasoning for doing landmine presses? Just wanting to do something different?

HA HA HA HA HA!

There’s a little bit of the bodybuilder mentality under all that powerlifter head-space after all! Now you have to go down to the nearest Outback Steakhouse and demolish a 32oz poterhouse in pennance to Jim Wendler.

And just to give you a laugh, I’m in the final month of a bulk. I’ve had to switch to my “fat pants”.

landmine presses because it allows me to get some over head pressing it w/o stressing rotator injuries

today:
wide pulldowns 6 x 15
hammer strength yates row 5 x 15
low rows 4 x 15
shrugs 5 x 20 w/405
dumbbell curls 5 x 10
barbell curl 3 x 15
rope hammer curls 3 x 15
elliptical 20 minutes

took kids swimming

well, since you’re at the pool, I can understand why you want to get out of your fat pants.

FYI Wendler doesn’t really eat. He is actually skinny, like 230. These days.

My bodybuilder isn’t that buried. I did two shows as a teen, another at 23, went on to prep for another at 25 but got derailed one weekend with illegal stimulants, a bottle of top shelf vodka, a red head and a brunette…

after that I thought contest prep was stupid.

about 4-5 years ago I contemplated doing a show again, after dieting down to 240 on a challenge. I think I was pretty close to bb’er on stage shape there. or at least late 80’s/early 90’s regional shape. Maybe 10-15 more pounds (I was measured at around 8% bf then, so with some fat loss and water manipulation probably 225ish would have been good) But shit, even local shows have dudes dieting down to glute striations these days… that is so ghey, and I am too old for that.

i will be sitting here in my fat pants, watching
