You forgot the fact that Kanye’s biggest talent is making those nice beats you mentioned. This alone would still make him relevant and sought after by the “more talented” artist…rappers, singers, etc.

I can’t stand his behavior or his attitude…but I can’t sit here and say he’s not talented than most in certain aspects…especially when it comes to producing music. It’s like the same thing with Pharrell…sucks as an artist…but you know the rest.

Alcohol obviously doesn’t bode well with over-inflated egos…such a fool. Kanye’s gonna end up like that guy on The Soloist…lol.

Yeah, but honestly are his beats THAT good? There’s probably at least a hundred kids in my city alone that can make better beats, they just haven’t been found. If he just up and disappeared would anyone really notice, or would the next cat come in and fill his musical shoes as people slowly [or quickly] forgot about him?

Yes,I think they are…plus he’s not stuck with a certain tired “trademark” to his music as lots of producers are. Which makes him more versatile. There are probably better talented people out there waiting to be discovered…but their time will come just as it did for Kanye,Timbaland, and other top producers.

And at this point, people would notice if he faded into obscurity…and sadly most likely for his ego and his mouth more than his music. But for those up and coming producers, some will be influenced or maybe even wannabe-Kanye’s themselves. This is all speculation at most…but we shall see. And you’re in Houston, right?

You’re right that people would notice if he faded, but you also kinda agreed with me. It wouldn’t be that they missed his music, they’d just be wondering where the loud mouth jerkoff went to for a bit, and then they’d forget him. Of course there will be West wannabes. But, what West’s doing isn’t new. He’s just another spoiled brat “artist” who throws highly publicized temper tantrums. Guys like him are a dime a dozen, especially within his specific genre. And yessir, I am in Houston. Wish everyone could be so lucky, haha.

LOL…Houston is aight. I’m in Killeen, but Austin is a hop and skip.
Lived in Austin for about a year. Was cool, but dominated by the hacky sac and granola crowd. Killeen consistently spits out some ball players man!

I have noticed that all of his tandrums have been exhibited on MTV…correct me if I’m wrong. And with MTV’s low standards,I wouldn’t be surprised if they “groom” Kanye’s behavior for ratings, etc. He doesn’t pull this shit during the Grammy’s…fucker knows better.
I do believe they probably “encourage” this behavior by not slapping him on his wrist, but I doubt this was set up as diesel said. Sounds like a tactic to save face. Just read a report on how West apologized to Swifts mom and text’ or tweeted [what is that shit anyway] an apology to her. Dude’s the epitome of douche bag.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Kanye is one of the most talented rappers alive, hands down. You may not like him, but his music will stand on its own.

Are you being serious? He has some nice beats but his lyrics suck my balls. If popular music was what it was in the mid 90’s guys like West, Lil Wayne and Soulja boy would’ve never gotten a record deal. That’s just the Gods honest truth. The guy is terrible.
Thank god somebody else can see the truth! Kanye needs to have his jaw re-wired. Shut.

Yeah…but I think East TX produces better ball players(I grew up in Henderson…south of Longview)…at least they used to.

Got a buddy in Leesburg [just outside of Marshall], and that whole area is saturated with cornfed blue chippers.

LOL Kanyes the SSSSHHHYYYYAAAATT

Haven’t watched the vid and don’t really care to. The guy cared less about “championing Beyonces cause” than bringing the spotlight on himself. Every chance he gets he tries to shut down white people as if it’s somehow “furthering” blacks, like Swift winning the award was a slight to Knowles. It’s all an act. He wants to be looked at as a crusader for black people, when really he’s just an insecure douche bag who can’t stand people not paying attention to him when there’s a camera around. I’d really, really like it if we as a society could get back to entertainment that actually entertains. It blows my mind that guys like this exist, let alone make millions.
That’s my boy. I think you mentioned liking The Roots in another post; definitely one of the most talented hip hop groups of all time and they STILL do all their shit live (instruments I mean) at their concerts. Much respect.

You got good taste.

Watch some old school vids of Black Thought freestyling with ?eustlove in towe. Really sick.

Yes, Kanye is a talentless motherfucker. Beats? Pharell mixes some SICK beats and doesn’t act like a diva, so why can’t Kanye be the same?

I don’t think anyone was expecting kanye to exhibit any measure of class…

BUT BUT HE WHERES THOSE BADASS GLASSES WITH BLINDS BUILT IN

Kanye…talented Rapper? Since when did pop music take over and be identified as Rap?
sheesh

I liked him so much better with his jaw wired shut.

He gave one half assed apology on his blog, think its hilarious they escorted him out of the building, thats how pissed the producers were.

Grow up. MTV is gay.
Wedding Crashers, not Old school, but great movies none the less

and yes Kanye is a douche

ye he is a douche, he gets pissed off when other people win awards that he is in the running for haha
WANKER

You mean a black hip hop/R&B performer did something classless and disrespectful to a woman? I’m shocked…shocked I say.

As Big Boss said, his and Pharrell’s beats are that good. Could they be replaced? Sure, but not with someone as good, just very close.

MTV started my senior year of high school. how cool it was to watch Ted Nugent doing Cat Scratch Fever at an outdoor concert and other things. in the early 80s nobody had done things like VIDEOS…OMG!! VIDEOS!!! i qite watching years ago, but they get stragner and stranger every year when i happen to surf by…hence the reason i keep surfing on to other things.

my better half found this in a forum for wives and mothers.

Lady GAGA is way out there too… bloody eyes? WTF?

Do people go on there and talk about how Dad’s are better, and they are dumb for having the goal of raising children?
