Nice work, JW…
Ignore the Goat, he’s looking for someone to share the pain with.
Nice work. 3:55? Ouch! I slept 2 1/2 hours past your workout time.I hope you go to bed at 7:00…
Work outs look pretty good to me. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Water park and there’s one right down the road from me. Think I’m gonna round up some family and go. Thanks for the idea.
Well hunker down, again. Seems like I’ve said that a lot this year. Weird weather.

Thanks Harry, got the house and business straight. Just hoping my parents and brother fare well. They live on the outer banks. Hope to see all of you on the other side of Irene.
JW- How did everyone fare? Send a smoke signal let us know you are OK…
Cmon on back, good buddy. What’s your 10=20?
OG and Harry, I’m here survived everything OK. Ive just had a bit of an personal crisis of motivation overwhelm me of late. I’m trying to push through the funk and get back on my game.

Decided to do some ladders on my first day back training. It was good to get in the gym, no matter what time it is! I’m going to tweak the program a little bit to see if i can get some strength increases and some fat loss. Really trying to watch my diet closely. Now I’m going to have to find my motivation again and push through this funk I seem to be mired in. hopefully I can get the gumption back and train tomorrow. Yes, OG. I AM considering some Dan John stuff. When one starts back why not do something challenging (or would that be insane?)
We survived the hurricane fine. Power was off for about 17 hours. Thank goodness for the generator I bought after Isabel in 2003! No real storm damage other than a really good thinning out of my crepe myrtle tree (who’s new name according to my daughter is Lop-sided Lisa) and a shingle blowing up. Ollie and Olivia Osprey lost their summer home of 7 years at the bridge. I will miss then. they were good neighbors. It was the end of the season for them. I’m not sure Rupert the bald eagle will do since he sublet Ollie and Olivia’s place in the winter time.
JW’s morning thought:Kudos to Wilbur and Orville Wright, without whom air sickness would still be just a dream.
he’s back…hey man…great to have a JW siting and a morning ( albeit evening now) thought! SO you haven’t been around lately and bench 275…now I know what I am doing wrong…battle through brother battle through!!
Thanks OG. One day at the time. Hopefully I can set up some trends.

Began my love hate relationship with rack pulls, which goes hand in hand with my animosity towards squats. Just couldn’t hold on to 325. It really kinda pissed me off. I did the triceps work as a super set. By Saturday evening I had a good total body soreness going on as i ate mussels and pasta for supper. Kinda shot the low carb diet all to hell…
Dateline Monday 4:10 am
Squat warm up: 135x20
Kroc row: 4x110x6
Lat pull down: 4x135x6
Face pull 4x90x10
Did everything in super sets with 3 minutes of elliptical ‘rest’ between sets. Worked up a good sweat this morning. It felt good training at O-darkthirty.
JW’s morning thought: If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant?s life, she will choose to save the infant?s life without even considering if there are men on base.
Nice workouts! Is it odd that the pasta and muscles made me hungry and its 8:00am on a monday?
Dateline: Saturday 5:40 am
Squat warm up: 90x20

Triceps push down: 140x10, 150x6, 160x4
Nothing spectacular about Saturdays training. Felt kinda odd all the bench reps at 255 were a struggle while the 275 reps flew off my chest. Go figure that one. My 325 miss was half way up. couldn’t gut it out. Triceps work was done in super set. Starting to feel like western Oregon here. We have had more rain since the weeks following Irene than we since the big Xmas snow… combined. Gonna need a McCormick Reaper to cut my grass if it ever dries out!!
Dateline Monday: 4:15 am
DB bench press: 2x70x10, 70x7
Hammer Incline: 70x10, 70x7, 70x5

OH triceps ext: 3x160x10
Did today’s work as a super set with 3 minutes elliptical machine ‘rest’ between sets. Tomorrow some back work is in store!
JW’s morning thought: Our leaders in Washington seem to be basically nice people, but they have demonstrated time and again that they have the management skills of celery.
Those doubles at 275 are no joke. good lifting.
Nothing to be ashamed at on Saturdays workout, either. You ever get back to where you can start stringing some workouts together again you’ll start moving the weights up.
training is looking good
glad you are escaping any weather damage
solid pressin

SSSOOOO after a coon’s age of no motivation, personal drama, sickness, internal conflict and strife I made it back to the gym. My weight loss has turned into weight gain, My personal training goals went out the window and I couldn’t find the gumption to wake up much less lift a freaking barbell. After 20 odd mornings of looking at my Rolly Polie Olie self in the mirror AND having a dinner that consisted of 4 appetizers, 2 entrees 3 deserts I HAD to find my way back to the gym. ( I was surprised my key still worked!)
Here I am. Back again and hopefully I can find some direction in my training and my life. I do know while I am sore as hell, I feel one gazillion better mentally when I am lifting. I guess Im going to take it one day, one rep, one training session at a time and hopefully I will string something together.
JW’s morning thought ( recycled from my Facebook page): The Top Ten Myths of American Health Care notes that for a man born in the United States in 1900 there was an almost one in five chance of dying before his first birthday. Now a man has to live to be my age before the annual mortality rate is one in five, which is why I?m careful with things like stairs and go down to the beer fridge only four times on any given evening.
Glad to see you back at it JW. Sometimes life becomes a grind but you do what you can.
Nice to see you back at it, brother.
