Justice for Peanut

Animals are the most heartwarming and wholesome part of social media. And that little squirrel brought a lot of people joy.

What’s crazy is how the New York Department of Conservation turns a blind eye to things that actually matter but they go after family pets that have no negative affect on anyone.

This independent journalist has some really good insights:

Terrible situation. At least the memes are good…

You clearly haven’t seen enough videos of transgender activists working with children and the many successes they find in that pursuit.

I enjoyed his antics even though I only learned about him yesterday. I try to stay away from glowing rectangles when it is close to bed time, but when that doesn’t happen I might be found watching animal videos on The Dodo or something similar.

This unnecessarily violent and cruel type of thing is what makes people wonder if we’re still the good guys.

Must have been this squirrel

All i will say…they come after my pet, it would take everything for me not to go postal

HA! Clearly.

That’s a really good idea. Love the Dodo! Chris has curated his Insta feed in a way that mainly only shows him animals and humor, so I try to look over his shoulder. I’m more of an X person, which is not great for bedtime… but it’s great for mining memes. :joy:

It would be better than the crap that usually gets posted. Not by me, of course.

We took in a werewolf (that’s also his name). The neighbors enjoy him and we even let him sleep on the treadmill. He’s ambivalent regarding squirrels but he straight up fights the racoons off. No joke.

Werewolf:

I’ve put down many a squirrel (we ate those) and racoon (we did NOT eat those) but yeah, they done this guy and his companions dirty. Its just a tad bit different when you’re hunting them for food or when they’re taking your food. It’s life.

It’s mind boggling what our so called public officials get up to. Or just humans in general.

I think the majority of people can hold several opinions at once.

  1. There’s nothing wrong with hunting squirrels (or hunting in general).

  2. There’s nothing wrong with animal control as a concept, whether its pest control on a farm or having a local government animal control officer.

  3. There is something wrong with conducting an armed raid on someone’s home who isn’t harming anybody, and all of the resulting unnecessary destruction and cruelty to both animals and humans represents American government at its worst.

Thats an awesome cat! :+1:

He’s a BEAST! Someone tossed him out as a kitten. No chip, intact. I chased him off the property multiple times since he was brawling with our two older females. Then the wife (who wanted me to “end him”) fed him and it was love. That’s a 4 foot long treadmill BTW. We love the big guy.

Apologies to the OP, I’ll never post another cat picture. Major hijack.

All threads should be hijacked with pet pictures. I hope you post more. And sprinkle them into the political threads just for funsies. Your cat looks like a sweetheart.
