Ok I stand corrected I weighed the bar at the closest gym I could find (shitty health club type gym) and it was roughly 25lbs. So I went to the closest sports store and weighed one and it was closer to 25kgs.
I never tried to come across as an arsehole and for my bodyweight I am relatively strong with a 400+ deadlift 75kg overhead press for 12 reps and coming back from knee surgery so I cant say how strong my squat is right now.
I am happy for the guy that he is lifting what he says and I think I have pointed out where I was wrong and why…
I admit I was wrong so anyone who wants to try and rip into me go for it. I always applauded the guy anyway, and just for clarification I don’t care about him.
Isn’t an official olympic bar, i.e. one that is used in the Olympics exactly 20kg? - i.e. 44lbs.
Any that are 21.6kg, or 45lbs or anything other than 20kg are not a proper olympic bar. Makes little difference in the real world, just being pedantic.
A 7 foot “olympic style” bar would always be in the region of 20kg or 45lbs.
Nice lifts, but if you criticism on the physique we can be concise by saying you need a dramatic change in body comp to be anything worth mentioning. You have the size and strength, but if you want to be aesthetic you need to start pushing away from the table for a bit.
Good lifts. I assume your a weight man on your track team. Talk to the person that coaches the sprinters. He can give you some high intensity running workouts that will help speed your metabolism, buidl muscle and add explosiveness. Good luck.
The chinese make shitty 15kg 7’ bars - bewary of them on ebay and in el’crappo gyms etc.
I have never personally seen a 25kg 7’ bar though, was this an old standard?
To the OP, love the hang clean vid, that is impressive ;).
Your body at the moment looks like shit from a BB point of view but you’re a machine so don’t worry about it, just get even stronger!
Any chance of posting a heavy squat on vid???
