Lots of good people here it seems (really enjoy JJ’s stuff)
A little about me:
Almost 40, been training off and on (mostly on) since my first year of HS football.
Seriously thinking about my first cycle, just hanging out here and absorbing as much as I can (my head is spinning).
A friend of mine has suggested a cycle of Tren and Winn… after reading here the last few days, I am not convinced it is a good choice (although he had amazing results with it).
Leaning more towards FuriousGeorges’ recommended newbie cycle, will keep reading and make a decision when I feel confident.
Definitely going to track my progress and share my results.
I can’t believe how much there is to learn.
My buddy has been doing it for years, so I thought it would be a no brainer getting started with his help, But I started cross checking his advice, and I’m really confused.
My first cycle is on hold for a while, till I feel quite a bit more educated.
Ur 40 and still waiting to start. What are u doing? I think u put in enough time to do a cycle if that is what u want to do.
However I think tren and winny for ur first cycle is not the best choice. A dose of 300-500mgs of a good test is really the best way to go for a first cycle. Ur receptors are clean so u will grow like a weed on such a cycle.
After that, if u want u can try the tren but I never found winstrol helpful in the offseason or a time I was trying to put on the most muscle as possible. I really liked it while dieting as it really helped me keep muscle while coming down in weight. Howevr, winstrol was the worst drug I have ever taken for hair loss, for me anyway.
I was able to reverse it with proscar but if u do take it and have hair loss issues then I would suggest including some proscar.
Thanks for all the replys, I think I spent 6-7 hours reading this board last night, I was kind of leaning towards Test/Winny, but joeblow’s comments about Winny and hair loss have me shaking in my boots.
I developed the classic “widows peak” (or center peninsula as my wife calls it) when I was about 32 I’ll be 40 in September, and judging by pics from 8 years ago or so, the hair-line is stabilized, and I would like to keep it that way.
I initially was thinking more cutting cycle type gear, I lift 5 days a week, and do Haganah (krav Maga) 2 times a week.
I eat fairly clean, but have definitely hit a wall.
What do you all think about a Test/Winny cycle? Anything I do run, will most likely be in smaller doses, till I see how I react.
edit to add I was writing my post before I saw yours Judge… Will most likely be a test only run.
Same problem. i was gonna run test E alone but i’ll be playing a bit of sports at the time (nothing too serious but i dont wanna slow down!!) i was gonna include winny with the test E. but my question, If i run Test E alone to bulk and continue football 2 days a week, how will it effect my speed/stamina. Any reply would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Welcome aboard, informal. I was in the same boat as you, virtually. I was 38 when I did my first cycle. I did a test-e cycle, and closed with masteron, which really was a waste, since my body fat was over 14% towards the end.
With my very limited experience, I don’t think you can go wrong with a test only cycle your first go 'round.
Realizing we all react differently, my hair has been retreating for ten years or so as well, but I didn’t notice any significant loss over the two test cycles I’ve done.
Really what you would want to decide is what dose and length, whether 500mg/wk for 12 weeks, or 7-800mg/week for eight weeks.
I would suggest, given the longer time it takes to feel the test-enanthate, you try a 12 weeker, with the test stasis/taper protocol to complete the cycle.
