One other thing to consider with long term ketogenic diets is the negative effect on adrenal and thyroid function. Now granted, high fat diets are very satiating, and therefore lead to less caloric intake in an average person who is not monitoring calories. The negative effect to thyroid hormone production and adrenal function is probably more related to caloric deficit
I think an argument can be made that blood type has a lot to do with this as well. If you look throughout history, Type A and B blood types are not found at all before the age of domesticated animals and farming.
I personally am type O, which is what is found before domestication, and do much better with higher protein and low GI carb based diets.
Step 6 gave me some 2nd degree burns Iām having a hard time explaining.
Damn dude! LMAO!!!
If you got the chocolate THAT hot, you may have ruined it!
Melting solid chocolate bars in the microwave should be done about 10 seconds at a timeā¦It goes from nothing happening to liquid very quickly.
Iām at PH 7.0 on TRT, ketones 5.0 which is considered high. Anything over 3.0 is considered high.
When I confronted my GP with this information, he just blew me off. No concern whatsoever, he was more worried that our time limit was up for which he kept reminding me. Kaiser doctors really suck!
I donāt ever get sick, havenāt had the flu since I was a kid.
That sucks to hear man. I donāt know much about it, but from everything Iāve heard it is pretty damn serious. I really hope you can get someone to look into it further.
You talk a lot about the desiccated thyroid meds. Iāve never looked into these or discussed with my doctor. Think I should? Iām wondering if that could make a difference.
Earlier this year, my TSH to Free T4 was 1.89 (Ref 0.45-4.5); T4 Free was 1 (0.8-1.8); T3 Free was 2.7 (2.3-4.2); Prolactin was 5.6 (2-18); and T3 Reverse was 31 (8-25).
Probably.
The good thing about thyroid is it tends to return to baseline quickly after you stop thyroid meds, so I donāt see a lot of risk in trying it and seeing what happens
@bkb333 - those free thyroid numbers do look to be low. Iām not an expert, but Iād think increasing FT4 and FT3 into the upper parts of the ranges could help you feel better.
Also, the RT3 looks pretty high, which what Iāve read, the RT3 binds to the same receptors as the FT3 does and elevated RT3 could block FT3 from binding to those receptors.
Check out stop the thyroid madness dot com. Great info there.
These are my numbers on 90mg dessicated thyroid. -
I wasnāt feeling like I thought I should, so my doc upped my dose to 150mg. Been on 150mg for 5 weeks now, still feeling like I need more, but doing blood work tomorrow to see where my numbers are.
Yes your free t3 is low. T4 is ok mid high and ft3 is expected high end of range.
Go to stop the thyroid madness.
Rt3 is high yup. Itās like a high SHBG. He has both high SHBG and high rt3. His doctor needs to fix his liver and whatever is causing the body to produce so much.
Just read through your log again ā this is so epic, brother. So happy for you! Low T is no way to live. Glad your protocol has been life-changing.
Hell yes!!!
Hey I was thinking about you with high rt3 Iām going to share a post with you. Read it it is good advice.
Another nice change went from 185lbs to 181-179 consistently. Added about 5lbs and around 9% bf. lots more muscle and definition beginning to happen.
Sticking to more protein and keeping the processed carbs and nasty sugars to a minimum.
I honestly donāt feel like going to extreme and making this happen fast. Iād rather go slow and easy and still enjoy my snickers and cheeseburger and fries whenever I want it.
You look awesome, you dont need any diet extremities. At the end life is to be enjoyed
Thanks my friend! True that
Damn man, you are killing it! Looking better than ever. What would you say is the sum of your changes (BF and MM wise) over the past year on T? Glad youāre making progress while enjoying life as well - trying to get better at that ![]()
Thanks man.
Iād say a good 8-10 lbs of muscle . Lost a good amount of fat to. 20-9%. Keep in mind I donāt eat a ton of food . Iām content losing fat and getting lean and ripped Versace huge.
Started at 170:165lbs and now Iām 180ish. I bet itās more muscle than 8-10, but thatās my best Realistic guess
My goal right now is to get rid of the excess fat around the midsection. I have like 1-2lbs across the board and get my bench press strong. I can do dumbbells no problem, but the mechanics of bench are something to practice and adapt to. The movement is so so odd with a flat bar.
In a couple months I will try to get stronger an just let the body adapt. We have similar body types so I have no reason to expect a jacked look. That would be a pain in the ass .
Thatās amazing, man. Itās pretty insane how well your body has responded and gone through recomposition. I bet your bench numbers will blow up as you begin focusing on the movement. It feels like second nature to me at this point because Iāve done it so many times.
What has your lifting routine looked like? Have you been doing 3 clicks AM/PM pretty consistently since the start?
It may be a pain in the ass, but Iām still going for it
I figure at 28 years old, with consistent training, on-point nutrition, and high T levels, thereās no reason I canāt get there, even if I have shit genetics.
Yah 3 and 3. With the thyroid. I feel great.
I donāt know why folks want to get huge and jacked. To me lean and normal beach body ripped is awesome. Itās realistic and tons of less food.
At 28 you have time to experiment. Enjoy man. I am 41 now or 40. God I cannot remember. Regardless time flies And when you turn 30 you will think you have tons of time. Then you turn 35 and itās like a few weeks passed by. 5 years or 10 years feels like a blink of an eye. Itās a bit scary.
Anyways thanks and keep rocking man.
Btw how the hell are you feeling with the new meds?
