Just to play a little devil’s advocate here, Stark did create a shield for Rogers after he quit being Captain America, and became simply The Captain (the USAgent costume). Then when Iron Man did the Armor Wars thing and attacked the Vault and destroyed the guardsmen Cap gave back the shield and T’Challa created a fully vibranium one for him.
Cap’s second shield is a mixture of adamantium vibranium and element x, the Stark shield was fully adamantium and weighted exactly like the original, the T’Challa shield was all vibranium and is still used by USAgent.
To read the full story check out Cap 339-342(?) and Iron Man 228.
And now you know… and knowing is half the battle
Got to salute a history buff!
But to be fair to the Prof’s point: he was referring to the Ultimates storyline, not classic Marvel. Since Nick Fury shows up at the end of IM as a black man, it looks like the movies will base a lot of plot development on Ultimates.
Yeah but even if they are doing Ultimates didn’t Stark make the sheild for the super soldier project?

No, because Stark wasn’t born yet. The Ultimate story line involves transporting Cap from the 1940’s to the present. They recover his frozen body and he is introduced back to the world. Stark becomes involved AFTER that. You are right about the shield, however. His original shield was adamantium. The new one will be vibranium alloy…which I hope like nothing else means they will be bringing in the Black Panther.

I thought in the Ultimate book Stark made the sheild after they “unfroze” Cap. I was referring to the mid 80’s book when Roger’s quit being Cap and Stark being the sneaky bastard he is made an all silver one for Cap, which Roger’s “gives back”, and T’Challa then makes the one used by USAgent now (silver black and red)
The silver all adamatium one given to Cap by Stark. This is cap’s 3rd sheild his first being the traingle one adn secend being the red white adn blue. The second sheild was adamantium and elemant x(a chemical that bonded to the sheild before it had cooled)

Not really.

As if Arabs/Afghanis/BROWN PEOPLE haven’t been pigeonholed already, do we STILL need to portray an entire race as cave-dwelling, incompetant imbeciles who are inherently evil?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Yinsen from a town? Not a cave?
A pretty small portion.

The ‘9 Rings’ or whatever it was named was a multinational terrorist regime, right? Why is it that only Muslims and Arabs are portrayed, then? Honestly…lol.
10 Rings. It’s a reference to the Mandarin. Note the ring the main bad terrorist wears.
What did you expect an educated surgeon to sound like? His mannerisms would indicate education in a western country. You read too much into a movie character. He even says he met Tony Stark before.
And that says more about the American saying it than it does about the Arabs.

What did you think about Mandarin’s revival recently?
Honestly I haven’t really been a big Marvel fan since the 90’s(when I realized most of their books where garbage). I haven’t read Iron Man since Stark was brainwashed by Kang and he a young Tony was brought to the future and killed older Tony(garbage). I’m more into DC now JSA, Justice League, Booster Gold, great stuff, on Marvel’s front Captain America(although if they don’t bring Rogers back I may stop), Avengers, Avengers Inititive, Thor, The Twelve, and Ms Marvel.
