Damn Nutty great stuff, congrats man.

Btw I just read through the first part of your log yesterday, you’ve really come a long way, really motivating.

What about Deadlift and squat? No PR’s here.

Thanks man. A lot of work, a lot of large pho, and a lot of genetics and leverages haha!

Thanks man! Yup, definitely have come a long way man. I’m saving the deadlift and squat session for Thursday or Friday. I really want to hit a big number so want to make sure I eat A LOT next 2 days and recover a bit. This program beats you to shit if you are putting up the loads I am for sure lol.

Haha well I always do appreciate the compliments. But my formula is:

Lift Weights + Eat + Recover + 200% Effort + Consistency + Genetics = Big Weights

And the genetics part of my formula play a LARGE part of what I’ve been able to do. There is NO denying it lol. So I gotta own it!

Definitely agree brother, but you have been putting in SOLID WORK these past years and it’s showing.

For sure man! Double progression, consistency, lots of pho and burritos has been a big help haha!

Wife surprised me with a boys trip from tomorrow through Sunday in Vegas! She’s been plotting for months!! Pretty stoked, so had to hit the gym today because the boys + vegas equals = a liquid diet pretty much lol.

LAST DAY OF SGSS!

BACK SQUAT (ss: Hanging Leg Raises - 3x10)
405x5
435x4
455x3
475x2
500x1 (PR! - Did a back flip right after I dumped the bar, got way too excited lol)

DEADLIFT (ss: Hanging Leg Raises - 3x10)
500x3
520x2
530x1 (PR!)

NOTES
Woke up this morning at 186.2lbs. Can’t believe I hit 500x1! It got hella hyped at the gym adding that extra 45 and 2.5 lol. But I never want to put 500 on my back again! Going to stick with 405 only and never go above that. If you lose even a bit of tightness you are fucked lol.

I have officially finished my second program. I will do a write up and review a bit later today so I can share the results with Thibs and others. DAMN I feel good though!

  1. Congratulations on crushing your PRs on four lifts in the same week!
  2. I’m happy you ran this program and had success like I did.
  3. I think you should add your program review to the thread I created to keep them together so people can see both of our testimonials. Just be sure to tag CT directly. He’ll love it.

Have your genetics helped since we first spoke on these forums 5 years ago? Because they didn’t seem to be helping you too much back then.

I honestly don’t think I was working hard in the beginning. That was my big problem. Plus I wouldn’t allow myself to get use to a program to see if it works or not. Once I said fuck it, I’m gonna bust my ass with effort and eat, things started to change. Once it went from less talk more action life changed haha.

Thanks man! My body is beat up, I’m definitely gonna take a break from lifting for like 2 weeks to get my mind refreshed!

Thanks man! I know it’s crazy to think how I started and how many programs I’ve done in 5 years lol. But ball busting effort + consistency + progressive overload still reigns supreme!

This was pretty much what I was getting at to be honest. I know its modest to shift credit to genetics, but the reality is that you’ve done the work and you’ve got the results for it. I don’t think that’s something you should shy away from.

Edit: just had a look back at the first few pages of this log and holy shit have you made some progress.

I agree man, but my rate/speed of progress is based on my genetics. I’m know I got to this point from hard ass work, but to get to a 500 squat in 5 years is due to genetics in addition to hard ass work. It might take some people 10 years to ever achieve a 500 squat at 175-185lbs and that’s busting their ass for a decade.

But for sure man, I went home and met some friends from HS a few months ago and a few of them didn’t even recognize me haha. Still to this day my best achievement was squatting 225 for 5 sets of 5 haha. It took me SOOO long to get to that point that I teared up, I remember clearly lol.

I felt the same about my first (And possibly only) 500lb pull. I find it hard to describe why I cared so much, but I did. I even remember the pig out meal after.

Go enjoy the trip, that’s a stunning wife planning that, you’re lucky Nutty.

Can’t wait to the 530 squat and 550 DL
