Game on man! What’s the deadline we set?

I like the sound of this, count me in too. Where you both at currently?

I’m reworking my form to really focus on using mostly my legs and staying more vertical. I would say perfect form I’m good for 225 1x5. This is where I’m going to start at for my new template.

But remember I’m only using 45s, 25s, 10s lol. So I’m trying to really own a weight before I take a big jump. My jumps will be 225-245-275-295-315. My personal goal was before Christmas. Put all that winter stay at home food to some use lol. Hopefully get it sooner though!

I tested my max a little while ago and it was 100kg with a little more in the tank. Didnt want to push it though. I think christmas sounds like a good deadline.

@isdatnutty @duketheslaya we are all around a similar place then so this should be good. Christmas sounds like a good time to aim for.

Is that tonight, fuuuuck… I hope it’s as good as Daredevil.

I think it should be pretty good. I thought Daredevil was good, Luke Cage was cool, Iron Fist was a bit too emotional/lovey dovey for me, and Jessica Jones I just couldn’t get into.

But I’m hoping as a team they kick some ass and make it good. I heard Ozark is pretty good too.

Ya, I wasn’t drawn into Jones or Cage myself. I might have given up on Cage too quick, though. I thought Fist was decent. Not great, but not terrible like a lot of people seem to think.

I train at home from time to time (I have bumpers and a weightlifting bar, just need to move my lifting to the garage instead of spare room so I can set up a platform and stuff), if you are doing lower frequency stuff you can survive having to lower the weights. I’d recommend using this as an opportunity to step back and work on technique on the lifts, and try to build some serious muscle and strength. Also learn how to recover cleans and snatches, you can minimize a lot of the wear and tear doing that.

Things like tall lifts, split recoveries, etc can definitely still be done to practice your footwork and timing.

Also good luck with your goals of becoming a CIO, keep us posted, I am definitely interested on how that goes for you.

NOTES: Super-setting is the best. Got in and got out.

Thanks man. That is what I was thinking. Just get strong as fuck and when I return to Olympic lifting, I’ll have the strength numbers to get the lifts I want. Then it’ll just be about technique and practicing the lifts themselves. Much easier to maintain strength once you’ve built up a certain level.

Thanks man. I’m hoping under 5 years I can make it happen. I’m thinking like a CIO day in and day out while working now.

MOCK MEET RESULTS

It was lots of a fun! Since the gym was a bit busier than anticipated we had to use the lb bumpers and not the kg :frowning: It’s ok we’ll live.

SNATCH
1st attempt - 185lbs → Solid
2nd attempt - 190lbs → NEW PR!!!
3rd attempt - 195lbs → Lost it in front of me. Didn’t drop under the bar looped.

C&J
1st attempt - 225lbs → Solid
2nd attempt - 230lbs → NEW PR!
3rd attempt - 235lbs → Not being conditioned enough got me. I had it!

NOTES: Overall it was fun. Me and Brian hit new PRs (he hit 265 snatch, 325 c&j) but Joe tried to go for broke, so he missed 4/6 attempts. If I would have been able to actually train the lifts I think I could have hit higher PRs. But it just goes to show that strength training does have an impact. Not snatching/cj for 3 weeks basically and then being able to hit a PR felt good. Just goes to show sometimes your body just needs a rest. I think lifting 3x a week is the perfect amount. You can really get after it and truly allow your body to heal up. Maybe that’s why the old timers did it this way. Hmmmm.

Ate a lamb burger and cracked a few brews afterwards felt good. Crab & shrimp nachos were FIRE!!!

Now just time to get strong as FUCK! This guy @mytittyhurts post really put it in perspective for me. My issue is I haven’t been able to have laser like focus. I am able to put in work blue collar style, but I need better focus to hit the strength numbers I want to hit. I think in one year (or less) I can hit all the strength numbers that I need.
