So, my department is officially doing the Nashville stair climb again. My goal for the next 3.5 months is going to be to get into ridiculously awesome shape. Last time I did the whole climb in gear, this time I’m going to carry some additional equipment.
So the climb is 110 (actually 112) floors in about 70 pounds of turnout and SCBA plus whatever equipment I decide to carry, and I want it to be a walk in the park.
Challenge accepted.
Sounds awesome and awful. Is there a particular time to shoot for?
lol, no, not really. I’ll have to stay with my team which probably won’t be that fast, hence challenging myself with more gear. I’m thinking I’ll try to borrow a high rise pack from somewhere which could add an extra 50 pounds depending on the type.
But mostly it’s just a good reason to get in really good condition.

Try carrying one of those dummies they use for MMA training. That would be the worst thing ever.

Haha! We actually have some dummies for search and rescue training. The child one is like 50 pounds I think. But going up with one wouldn’t be the most realistic…
Edit:
Now I need to think about how I’m going to program. 5/3/1 main lift in the morning, conditioning/cardio/strongman type stuff after work. I need to get out in the heat in gear (the stairway isn’t air conditioned). I’ll have to see how well my back does too, I’d probably have to try it with front squat and trap bar dead instead of the regular squat and dead.
I need to see if I can work something out with the gym to use their stair climber.

I’m up to 203 this morning, so about 10 lbs gained since last check-in thread. About another week of bulking and then I’m going to begin cutting for a Physique show in October probably. Have standard bad lighting pics in my log here, but here’s a nice looking mirror pic for the update lol

The progress you have made from your original post in one of the first check in threads is awesome
Since i will most likely post here through the summer until school starts the least i can do is post a recent pic. Sitting around 215ish or so in these two pics. From this Mon.
