July 7th UFO Sighting in China

I’m a bit confused. When you say “light can travel faster than light itself” what do you mean? I certainly accept that light may travel more slowly when propagating through, say, water or glass. But I’m not aware of any physical theory that claims light can travel faster than c, unless it is a theory that postulates that c may have changed over time.

UFO’s sighting are a double edged sword. You want it to be real because, well it’s a fuckin’ alien and aliens are awesome! but at the same time if they can travel here they can destroy us without a problem.

There was a twilight zone(b&w oldie) episode I watched when I was a little dripper that scared the shit out of me. It was the one titled " How To Serve Man". Anyway aliens come down to earth and make nicey with us and give us a book called how to serve man. While the aliens are being friendly and offering earthlings a chance to go back to their home planet our experts are slowly trying to decipher the alien language from the book they handed over. At the end the language experts figured out what the book was about. While everybody assumed from the title it was how are they going to help mankind…wrong!

It’s a cookbook on how to EAT mankind lol…sneaky aliens. I laugh now but it gave me the willies when I first watched it. Anyone else seen this episode?
Oh yes! I remember that one! Love it still.
In fact, it’s one of the reasons I bought the entire “Twilight Zone” DVD library.

lol

Cheers.

this stuff is really interesting. it makes your life and your problems also seem so insignificant compared to the vast universe.

UFOs bring out the best in the human race… Or the worst; I’m never quite sure which.

They may have a different understanding of space time, or even the same understanding but the ability to manipulate them in ways we can’t understand.

It is strange the way that what ever it was in that video seemed to emerge from a point consecutive to the previous place that it was, and the contrail re-formed. I’ve heard a description of frames of time described as that appears. It’s as if space and time were separated or resized from the proportions which we exist in and perceive as continuous or inseparable.

Very strange.

or it was simply breaking the sound barrier or it was a rocket stage. who wants to bet a case of your favorite beer that that particular video will be confirmed to be a missile test or rocket launch?
I’m tempted to take you up on that if we can change the wager. My favorite beer days are long gone, but I’ve never had a genuine Philly Steak. The Pittsburgh equivalent is a Primanti Bros. sandwich- http://www.primantibrothers.com/ , which is considered legal tender in all of the lower 48 states.

lol deal.

And exactly what “conclusions” have been reached? They study UFOs b/c most UFOs are likely advanced craft from other nations. It’s a national security issue for the respective countries.

Depends on what reports you read, but the COMETA Report has a section detailing what should be done regarding alien visitation and defense. The researchers openly discuss motivations for aliens visiting Earth. There is enough evidence, at least within this report, to suggest that the craft are not all advanced air-craft of Earthly origins.

In comparison, the U.S government, in the past, has given only a half-assed effort in studying the UFO phenomenon, usually dismissing credible information and sightings outright.

I wasted time reading 8 pages of this tripe. It hardly passes for any scientific investigation. Anyone that can read this at face value, lacks critical thinking skills. The paper is piss poor written. It does not deserve any serious consideration.

Well now I get the references and samples in that song…

the episode

I think it’s funny how much more intelligent the narrator sounds than any narrator of comparable modern shows. Is modern media attempting to dumb down television for a dumber audience or is the same audience growing dumber to match the media?

Not sure what you’re arguing, but the speed of light in a vacuum is constant.
Light can be slowed down, resulting in moving “slower” than light in vacuum. The opposit it pretty damn impossible though…
I read a comment on physics forums that light doesn’t slow down, it just takes time to get absorbed and emmited from molecule to molecule, and this time lag is what makes light appear to slow down, but in actual fact it never does slow down.

But that was just a comment i read, sounds cool though right!
Yup!
