“Juicing” Surge Workout Fuel with More Leucine?

Is there any advantage to adding additional leucine to Surge Workout Fuel in any portion of any of the fueling “windows”?

I would suggest that if there were, it would already be in it.

That does make sense.

But one size fits all, regardless of body weight or body composition?

And what about more leucine throughout the non-workout days?

Charles Poliquin said leucine is good, get 4 grams per day. But make sure you pay attention to the ratio of leucine to valine and isoleucine.

“It’s better to take leucine-enhanced BCAAs—that is, BCAAs with leucine in a ratio of about 4 to 1 with valine and isoleucine—because this formula has been shown to be most effective for muscle building. When leucine intake is out of balance with that of the other BCAAs, it can lead to an imbalance in the blood amino acid levels, reducing the anabolic response.”

The problem with the quote above is that it conflicts with the science behind Surge Workout Fuel that the only amino acid it has is leucine. Add to that they said it only worked when not competing with any other amino acids.

So which is it?

I don’t know man. Maybe you need to take different combinations of aminos throughout the day to get the best mixture.

Regarding leucine and only being effective by itself in Surge; Aren’t L-Citruline Malite and Beta Alanine both amino acids that also are in Surge?

These are good points.
So, I ask does the malite attached to L-Citruline making it a salt make it act different than most amino acids? Does the Beta of Beta Alanine make it act different than most amino acids?

I don’t know. It would be nice to have a Surge expert contribute.

No, I would’ve put more leucine in Surge Workout Fuel if it needed it. Please don’t add other ingredients to the formula.

“One-size fits all” is specious; it’s not a valid argument in this case.

The other ingredients optimize the effects of leucine.

This is a terrible idea. Adding isoleucine and valine is useless and will diminish leucine’s effects on building muscle. (This is old news.)
