hahahaha pantsless wrestling now? this thread just keeps getting better and better
Feel your pain on the job searching man, I spent all summer looking and just found a job like 3 weeks ago. Just gotta keep at it. Working out was kinda my solace from all the stress during the summer, honestly. This might be something you already know, but don’t be afraid to ask friends if their workplaces are hiring or if they’d put in a good word for you. Even though I just started at this place, I already managed to get another of my friends a job cooking with me.
Good luck with the job search and keep after it in the weight room man. Looks like we’re pretty close on bench numbers.
lookin jakt brah.
I feel like we have kind of similar builds (pretty dece chest/shoulders/traps, arms subpar).

look who it is! You’re log has been quite the journey huh? (yes I did actually read through it all.)
Looking good in the recent pic. you look pretty thick and much more tan than your last pic. wrestling without your shirts on? lolol
I’ll be following.
It really has been! I hardly accomplished any of the goals I first set out to when I made this log (win state in football, win state in powerlifting, various powerlifting goals) but I think I’ve gotten a lot of good work done. I’ll be sad when I max this thread out.
Thanks man, glad to hear it. Me and Cody are actually in different states right now but once I get home I’ll be sure to lat drop him with our pants off.
Whoops, I meant shirts off, no I actually did mean pants…
Back/Biceps
Conventional Deadlift:
135 X 5
225 X 5
275 X 5
315 X 5
365 X 5
1-Arm Deadstop Dumbbell Rows:
90’s X 2 X 8
100’s X 2 X 6
Lat Pulldown:
100 X 15
120 X 12
140 X 8
150 X 8
Seated 1-Arm Cable Row:
70 X 4 X 10
Band Lat Stretch: Green for 1:30
Barbell Curls:
90 X 3 X 5
90 X 4
70 X 10
Cable Kpipe Curls:
40 X 2 X 15
50 X 2 X 15
DC Biceps Stretch: 25’s for 1:30
Deadlifts weren’t as awesome as last week. They’re getting there though. I don’t see myself stalling for at least 4 more weeks and once I do I think I’ll switch to 5/3/1 and build my base back up. My mind muscle connection wasn’t that great today and I had a lot of low back activation on deadstop rows. I’ll get it eventually. I’m still sporting a good pump though.

Underwear will be worn of course.

Yeah, if worst comes to worst I think I’ll try to get work on campus. I’m really looking for something that doesn’t interfere with my schoolwork and lets me keep lifting as a priority in my life. It’s especially tough for me since I just got my green card so I don’t have a whole lot of experience that employers can look back on.
Lol, I noticed that when I looked over your log. We both suck! We will get there though.

Thanks broski.
I think we do have a lot of similarities, we’re definitely both torso guys. My triceps are lot like yours, fairly flat and they’re so high on my arm that I don’t look like I train arms when I’m in a T-shirt =( I’m hoping now that I start putting a real focus on arms that they’ll grow.

I have a pretty decent phone with video capability so I will in the future. I’m hitting such crappy numbers right now though that I don’t really see a point to taking any, you know?

Shoulders/Calves/Abs
Lying External Rotations:
2.5 X 3 X 15
Barbell Incline:
45 X 8
120 X 5 @ 65%
140 X 5 @ 75%
160 X 10 @ 85%
Dumbbell Lateral Raises:
25’s X 15
30’s X 15
35’s X 12
40’s X 10
45’s X 10 → 20’s X 12
BONEZ217 Lateral Raises:
30 X 2 X 20
40 X 2 X 12
Dumbbell Rear Delt Raises:
40’s X 2 X 12
45’s X 2 X 12
Facepulls:
100 X 30
Band Pullaparts:
Purple X 4 X 25
3 Second Hold Dumbbell Shrugs:
100’s X 3 X 10
Seated Calf Raises w/ 30 second stretch:
90 X 4 X 10
Hanging Leg Raises:
BW X 4 X 10
Standing Abs:
100 X 4 X 10
I’m pretty happy with how today went. I had more on incline and it moved really fast. Dumbbell laterals seem like they’re stalling so I may switch to machine laterals for a while. Cable laterals are super painful. I liked the shrugs with a hold. As usual, grip is the limiting issue but I’ll try to build up in reps on that lift. Calves kept cramping up while training them which was super annoying.

I hear ya on that but when I video myself I get a lot out of watching them. a lot of times what I see in the mirror or what I think i’m doing isnt exactly what I see in the vid so it helps me tweak things here and there ya know? i lift solo so I dont get critiques mid session from a training partner so I think its a valuable tool.
i’m sure peeps would still check out your vids, regardless of the numbers.

x2 on the taping yourself (even if you don’t post vids every day). Super helpful in getting feedback after a set so you can adjust for the next set.
Also, I’d watch if you posted. Very few of us are hitting anything like record numbers but it’s still interesting to see different bodies moving weight.
x3, post some vids. I call bullshit on all of your lifts.

Yeah, you guys are right and I definitely see your points. Gregron, what software do you use to edit your videos? A lot of people seem to use whatever it is that you’re using. I’m a bit obsessive-compulsive about that kind of thing. Once I get some videos together, I think I’ll post them through the video sharing on here. I don’t really want a giant YouTube account full of videos. I will definitely see what I can do.
And, I’ll have a training partner within the next two to three weeks so I’ll have someone to hold the phone for me. I seem to have no excuses…lol

Legs
Front Squat:
135 X 5
185 X 5
225 X 5
255 X 5
Barbell RDL’s:
135 X 8
185 X 8
225 X 6
255 X 6
Leg Press:
4pps X 20
5pps X 20
6pps X 12
7pps X 6
Lying Leg Curls:
50 X 2 X 15
65 X 2 X 15
Leg Extensions:
80 X 2 X 20
95 X 2 X 15
DC Quad Stretch: 20 seconds
DC Hamstring Stretch: 45 seconds
Front squats and RDL’s felt pretty easy but I’ll be staying with my progression. I almost failed on the seventh rep on the last set of leg press but I arm pressed (lol) and locked it out. DC stretches were murderous. It is going to take me a while to work up to respectable times. On the plus side, my legs are just as pumped but feel more mobile than usual.
Just keep doing your thing man. Videos are always cool but unless the person requesting them (I know Greg has 'em) has them you don’t owe anyone anything.
As for bullshit on lifts… what? You’re doing well, but it’s not like you’re saying you’re inclining 495 for 6-15 or something.
So, keep up the good work bro.

Don’t worry, we are friends, I was just giving him shit. I have seen him bench 270 with my own two eyes and don’t doubt his ability to squat and dead 500+ when he is healthy.
