Joss Whedon´s Dollhouse

I think it probably came from working for Roseanne back in the day.

Ha. Good call.

I forgot that he worked on Roseanne.

I guess that would be enough to make anyone go for the complete opposite type.

He was basically the only man that Roseanne would allow to write for her female characters, guess she was smart enough to realize early on that he had a knack for that.

Roseanne is where he first met Glenn Quinn.

See, I’m up on Whedon trivia, too.

Can I sit at the cool table with you guys?

somehow I didn’t make the Glenn Quinn connection till you mentioned that.

I feel shamed.

I can say that Neil Patrick Harris got connected to Joss/Dr Horrible project because he has been friends with Amy Acker for a long time.

So How I Met your Mother is a very Whedon friendly set.

Besides Willow and NPH being main cast members, youve got Amy Acker who appeared in the first season finale, and Alexis Denisof had a recurring role during the first 2 seasons.

Fuck me this show sucks donkey cock.

How do expect us to connect to a main character that changes every week?

Just give us a Buffy/Angel movie !

Lemme see if I got this traight . . .

FBI Guy is Alpha

Echo is undergoing the same amalgamation process as Alpha did

Alpha will be killing his next door neighbor immediately after he FBI-Guy romances the chubby

Fucking Illiria needs to go ahead and just starting ruining peoples’ shit

I miss anything?

Huh?

I feel asleep during the show (I know) but this come at the end?

I think the show might be decent we just need to give it some time. Although I don’t see it lasting very long with the central idea of it…

Alpha is seen nude in the pilot. FBI Guy has same physique in his kickboxing scene. Also has an obsession with the Dollhouse which is derided even by his superiors. Has a sweet-and-innocent [copyright Joss “I’m Fucking With You” Whedon] next door neighbor.

He’s either going to kill her or work her into one of his operations.

Also, in his last scene, FBI Guy is sleeping in a hospital bed in the same position the Dolls sleep in at the House.

Exceprt from the Wikipedia page on Nathan Fillion, guess this means i have to try playing Halo finally.

“Fillion plays the voice of a Marine Sergeant in the Xbox 360 game Halo 3. He is joined by his Firefly co-stars Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk who both voice marines. At one point early in the first mission, he identifies himself as “[Sergeant] Reynolds” over the radio, referring to his character’s name from the TV series Firefly. All three actors are given personalities in the game that match those of their characters from Firefly. He will reprise his role of Sergeant Reynolds as the main protagonist in the Halo 3 expansion, Halo 3: ODST.[22]”

According to this, we have to be patient and wait for episode 6.

“I understand it from a business perspective, and from Fox’s view, but at the same time we?ve now done 13 episodes, and people have said that the show took off once they finally realized that Joss is best off left alone to do his thing. That happens around episode six - six through 13 are just extraordinary. I love one, two, three, four, and five, but Joss’ first script that he did after the pilot is number six … and it is just unbelievable. From that point on, the world unfolds in Joss’ way, with Joss’ speed, and it’s really remarkable.”

I didn’t even watch the last episode. Ep three was so disgusting I just couldn’t take it anymore.

I’m going to hold out hope for the last 8 episodes!

For me, the pilot was pretty lackluster. The second episode was fairly good. The third episode I want to erase from my memory. But, Friday’s fourth episode was also pretty good. So, with the exception of the third episode, I see the series clearly improving.

Thus far, (IMO) the show has been at its best when it’s allowed itself to actually work on the mythology, characterize Echo’s burgeoning sense of self, and throw in some of that signature Whedon dialogue.

I saw a lot more of especially the latter on Friday (through Topher and Echo’s handler), so I was very pleased. Oh yeah, any time Amy Acker is on screen is simply excellent. And, the girl playing Sierra is showing some strong acting chops, so more of her is definitely warranted.

I’m inclined to believe Whedon and Dushku’s claims that the series really takes off around episode six when the studio supposedly allows them free reign. I just can’t see them not privileging the above factors, which are all win in my mind.

I just hope next week is another improvement, so that others that have been following are willing to make it to the back half of the series. If I wasn’t prematurely investing myself in the show, I don’t think I could take another third-episode-like trainwreck (no matter how much skin they manage to reveal).

The actor playing Alpha was leaked a while ago. You’ll remember him from Firefly, if the information is accurate. (Hence, he is not the FBI Guy.) However, all the points you make about the FBI Guy are very interesting in their own right.

In light of this new info I’m definitely back in for next week.

I really hope someone curses Alpha’s sudden but inevitable betrayal. I would cream my pants.

Supposed to start getting good tonight!

Got my fingers crossed.

I call shenanigans. FBI Guy cleared a house-full of security.

My guess is the same as another internet comment I saw regarding leaked shots of the Alpha-built lair/chair: The guy who thinks he’s Alpha is one of Alpha’s dolls.

[edit]

Damn. Just saw Dewitt look at the tape of Ballard, and neither she nor Malcolm thought anything of him.

Either they have gotten a treatment, or he’s not Alpha.

Damn.
