The suits don’t care if he steals jokes as long as he can sell tickets and generate ratings. If they did care, Dennis Leary would have faded into obscurity as soon as he got nailed stealing Bill Hicks’ act.

Mencia has been notorious for this for a long time. Or should I say “Ned Holness”, lol. He’s actually half Honduran and half German. I remeber George Lopez talking on Howard Stern about he called out Mencia on stealing parts of his acts and ending up knocking him out.
Props to Rogan for having the nuts to get in his face like that. Joe is a little much at times but I generally like him.

When you are a black belt in TKD and a brown belt in BJJ under Eddie Bravo, it doesn’t take much in the way of ‘nuts’ to confront a tub of goo like Holness. Ned sure isn’t going to clown him with his rapier sharp wit (more like butterknife sharp), and he certainly doesn’t pose any physical threat to a guy with the martial arts background of Rogan.

Also, after watching that, it was pretty awesome. Them ganging up on him in the end was shitty, though. Amazing how people get balls once someone else has already opened the door for them.

Ok the whole stealing thing is bad, but why are people getting so worked up over his name change? There are plenty of entertainers that have changed their names. Also the Honduras thing, he mentioned it on his show,so it’s not like it was some big secret.
Mencia is not original. He doesn’t deserve the accolades he’s given in most cases. His whole deal is based on race…but he does say it. He says it. That’s the important part. Chapelle isn’t exactly a comedy guru either, as many would like to believe, seen it …Richard Pryor told it, just as Bill Hicks did for many a comedian in this day.
Everybody follows somebody…I’m just glad there is somebody to repeat it, so nobody forgets. Afterall, none of you are on that stage…sweating…speaking, open to ridicule. I love Bill Hicks, but my favourite comedians are Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright.
I managed a large comedy club for a while and many, many comedians dislike Carlos because of how much material he jacks. On a side note, go see Joe Rogan if you have a chance. Flocks of beautiful women go to his shows, it is mind blowing actually how many go.
