JJackKrash's Training/Ski Log

5’s day, Bench, TM 260

Bench: 45 x30, 90 x15, 135 x10, 185 x5, 205 x 5, 225 x 10.

Incline Bench: 95 x 5, 145 x 5, 195 x 5, 245 x 1, 1, 1, 1, 195 x 7.

Krock rows: 100 x 30.

BB Rows: 135 x 25.

Cable Rows: 210 x5.

DB Bench: 100s x 6.

Notes: My lower back was still fried, so I switched things up today. My bench is still in the toilet. I may really change things up after this cycle if I don’t see some improvement.

good stuff here buddy.

Damn - Its July and you are finally seeing the sun, experiencing 90 degree weather and having BBQ???
WTF???
Oh yeah…I grew up in that shit.
Sorry Jack, just giving you a hard time.

Nice lifting skinny one. Good to see the prowler isn’t burning any muscle off your bones.

OMP, it really sucks this time of year here:

Shhhhh – quiet, I’m hunting wabbits:

Anyone else place bets on crab races on the 4th?

Great pictures, Jack. I especially like the wabbit hunter.

Beautiful scenery!

Nice pics, Jack! Are you having rabbit stew, or crabcakes for dinner?

So did you eat the crabs after racing them? Looks like a great time. Is that Rainier in the background? You getting any water skiing in?

Thanks LS. Math, not wabbit stew, but the crabs were tasty. Harry, the crabs raced valiantly, then got dipped in butter. Yup, that’s Rainier, as seen from my cousin’s place on Lake Tapps. No skiing this year–no boat and I’m too heavy. I don’t enjoy skiing much if I’m not doing it regularly. I will probably join a ski club next spring.

great pic.Damn my kids use to be that size.

Now I’m homesick.

Great photos.

No skiing? Well, the next log title is gonna have to be different…

Thats a great pic of the mountain in the background. Is that where you live, on the lake?

Thanks for stopping in Bulldog and OMP. Kimba, it is almost time for a new log. I still have not figured a new name. Scott, that’s the view from my cousin’s place. We are still trying to decide between fresh and salt water–and saving for a down.

5’s day, squats, TM 395.

Squats: 45 x10, 135 x 10, 225 x 5, 265 x 5, 295 x 5, 335 x 10.

Front Squats: 135 x 5, 225 x 5, 315 x 1 (tried for a double).

Full-Size Prowler: +90 lbs, 4 x 40yds., 2 high, 2 low (inside).

Notes: Decent day squatting. I really wanted to hit a double for 315, but I kinda screwed around on the set up, blew out my air before the first rep, and could not get anymore back in. I went ahead anyway and hit the first one nice and deep and solid, and tried for two, and almost passed out on the bottom. I dumped it onto the pins coming up. Then I did 4 passes with the prowler with very little rest, as a boot camp class was just about to start. I was very close to puking. My plan was 6 passes, but, in the words of Mike Tyson, everybody gots a plan until they get punched in the face. That thing is tough on the plastic floor–lots more friction than on concrete.

Since I’ve just started doing them I’ve gained a whole new respect for the front squat.

Great squats…front and back. I never really thought about it (or tried it) but I bet it is more difficult to get a breath with the bar up front.

whoa nellie! Maximal front squats after a rep max on back squats

great work jack

Harry, the front squat is underrated. Strick, I could not get more air in for the life of me. Thank for checking in on me, SD!

5’s day, Press, TM 165.

Press: 45 x 20, 95 x 5, 105 x 5, 125 x 5, 140 x 14.

NG Chins: 5, 5, 5, 5, 4. [superset with press]

Dips: BW x 10, +25 x5, +50 x5, + 85 X3, BW x15.

BehindNeckPulldowns: 105 x10, 120 x10, 135 x10, 150 x5.

Standing DB OHP: 55s x 10, 75s x 3, 45s x15.

SB Curls: 90 x 5, 50 x 20.

Prowler, Inside: +90 x 4 x 40 yds. (low/high).

Notes: I was feeling crappy all day, but the gym really perked me up. I was pretty happy with all the lifts. But I weighed in yesterday, and I would have had to cut to get into the 242’s, and I’m about out of holes on the lever belt. I really don’t want to go crazy on a diet, but I need to do something. I am going to try cutting out liquid calories (except one mocha a day, this isn’t gitmo for crying out loud) ice cream and deserts, and cut down on carbs–try and focus on steak, chicken, liquid protein, and veggies. And keep hitting the Prowler. That thing is a fucker. I’ll get up to six passes soon enough, but 4 on the inside left me in a fetal position today.

Great work, Jack. Good lookin’ millies, dips and chins. Those dmned chinups. They keep popping up in folks logs and I am scared of the damned things.
