That is too funny. You can have every extra ounce of my belly fat if you want it, I got no use for it.
This is funny, and true. I hear so many complain at everything they consume, both supplement and food wise. I can drink too much one night, next day eat too much, and consume every crappy supp the healthfood store has to offer, and rarely do I feel any pain in my stomach, or cramping, or whatever it feels like. Bloaty, yes, but pain, no.

Jack, so you have the prowler, now what are you going to do with it?
I was going to push that fucker tonight after squats, but unexpected shit got in the way, so no squats either. Hopefully tomorrow.
Secret to keep (oh shit this is the internet): The prowler can take very little time, and produce a lot of results. the 40yd x 10 trips x 90lbs x 60 seconds rest, I got from my training partner who got it from his friend who came up with this 5/3/1 crap. The goal is to start with 90lbs and work up to the same sets/rest with 180. I need to buy some more plates. But anyway, I found out through trial and error that it doesn’t take too long to get this done, but never let your wife know. One night I said “well, gonna stop and do the prowler” response: I need you home now!!! “Okay honey”. Two weeks later, got the call after squatting, on the way to do the prowler: “Honey are you on your way home?” “No, I am still in the gym. Dumbass thinks he can do 1200 with 200 in chains with straps down, I have to spot, then I will be home”. Response: OK dear, that sounds like they need you, see you when you get here. Then I stopped, pushed the sled for a very short amount of time, and drove home feeling like I wanted to puke. True story, through and through.

Now I really have to get me a prowler… or find me some really good phots and build me one!

Pete, thanks for the tips. I am going to start with 40s with the sled flat empty before adding weight. I get winded walking to the mail box. But I will work towards that goal.

5’s day, squats. TM 385.

45 x10 (jumping), 135 x 10 (jumping), 225 x 5, 275 x 5, 325 x 9.

Front squats. 135 x 5, 185 x 5, 225 x5, 275 x 1.

Notes: 1st day squatting in a while, and it felt like it. Ugg. My depth was good, but it should be at this weight, and not as many reps as I had hoped. Front squats were to rock bottom with a very short pause on pins. I think my mental toughness has been effected by the layoff as much as my strength.

I broke down and got some protein with BCAA–the expensive clear liquid kind in a bottle that I freeking love even though its way overpriced–and fish oil, and had a pile of ribs and pasta for dinner. I am waiting for the rain to stop, or at least slow down, before hitting the prowler. If not tonight, I’ll hit it in the a.m. I was planning on pulling friday, but we’ll see. Squats got pushed back pretty far into the week.

Nice squats-

and I have prowler envy

Agree with KM on the squats. It looks like you’ve been affected in a good way!

Have you noticed anything from BCAAs? I haven’t, and I’ve done them (sound like a drug addict), as well as straight up leucine.

You will get back into the squat groove in no time. I recall how you pounded the hell out of Smolov not that long ago.

I, for one, won’t believe you are actually pushing that prowler until I see it on video. Talk is cheap.

Been MIA. Just catching up. Glad to see you back under the bar - squating. I assume that you finally beat the junk that had you under the weather?

LS, I’m much better but I got some projects that are kicking my ass.

5’s day, Press, TM 160.

Press: 45 x 20, 95 x10, 105 x 5, 120 x 5, 135 x11.

Superset:

NG Chins: 6, 5, 5, 4, 4.

Press 95 x 10, 10, 10, 7, 10.

Behind Back Pull Downs: 120 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.

OH Press DB 60s x5.

Later: Prowler 10 x 40 yds, 1 min rest., no added weight. (I’ll add weight next time.)

Ask and thou shalt shall receive: fat old guy on passes 1, 6, and 10.

Notes:

I was so sore today I could barely want down stairs from squats on Wed. The prowler actually felt great–for a little bit. Sweat started around pass 8 and did not subside for 30 or so minutes. Now I’m sore again. Funny thing, I felt like I was running alot faster than the video showed. It must be a slow mo camera. Also, its a catch 22. The slower you go, the harder it is to push. It will be interesting to see what its like loaded with weights.

I want to see that video, but its set to “private”. Boo.

Fixed. My internet foo is weak.

Good lifting Jack.

Did you try the bucket handles yet? ( those are the low handles )

Start off with grabbing the uprights at the midpoint and really keep your ass back and arms extended. Put a 45lber on their already!

You guys are never satisfied! I have not tried the bucket handles, but I will add some weight next time. Gotcha on the arms extended. I get winded walking to the mailbox, so this was a pretty big first step.

Just busting your chops a little. Seriously take it easy like 3 sled runs after each workout and go from there and slowly add weight and runs over time.

DCA, I was about to write a dozen things that were juvenile and slanderous, I desisted simply because I believe this board is above that…

okay, did you take some midol? maybe Meat can give you a massage after you let him spoon you?

Can’t help myself, remembered this is Jack’s log. much to clean and proper.
They spoon? Seriously? I thought they just talked. Who knew?

I may try creatine again. I’ve done before and it seemed to do sweet f.a. Maybe it’s time to try again now that I don’t have to worry about water retention for a bit.

I missed something here that sounds good. Care to explain Fischer?

I thought you were running pretty darn fast on the video. Have your neighbors been inquiring yet WTF you are doing in the street with that Thing?

Rick, feel free to bust away. Kimba, no questions yet, just the initial funny looks.

3’s day, deads, TM 420.

Deads: 45 x10, 135 x 10, 225 x5, 295 x3, 335 x 3, 375 x 7.

Deads: 295 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.

GM’s from pins just above parallel: 45 x5, 95 x5, 145 x5, 195 x5.

Notes: Felt good today, but the BBB set took the wind out of my sails. GMs felt strange from pins, I am not sure what to think about these.

Edit: for stupid spelling errors.

Really nice work, Jack. Deads re looking strong. And 295x50 would take the wind out of anyone’s sails. Some of us it might kill

Thats quality work on the deads, and the prowler looked like a blast. I love my sled but the prowler looks way more fun.
