If you saw most of your favorite trainers or the ones you consider the best or toughest in front of a camera, especially with an audience present, you’d understand this.
Bingo. Her target audience doesn’t give a shit if she won World’s Strongest Man. This is like complaining because you couldn’t get jello on your burger when the place claims, “have it your way”.
always about the burgers
Little bit homo, but Marlon Brando had one of the most epic handsome-to-goddamnit transformations I’ve seen since Val Kilmer.
Val Kilmer just gave up. Something must have happened in his life to truly suddenly not give a shit…unless it was hell for him to stay in shape earlier.
I think Marlon Brando was trying to see how fat he could get. He never reached his goal of being truly bed-bound while being fed cake icing through an IV.
My mom loves Jillian Michaels’s protein powder. She had protein shakes every day after her throat surgery and couldn’t eat solid foods for over a year (due to other medical problems). When I suggested “real” protein powder, my mom was like “no, i’m not trying to gain weight.” She ended up losing over 80 pounds on a liquid only diet…

Sarah Conner?

wow you canadians sure are sharp as a tack
I didn’t understand the reference until now.
Not Canadian.
I do know that Jillian has no kids and wants to adopt.
(Sad face for me knowing this fact, happy face for adopting kids… )
I really don’t get the hate for her though. She inspires fat people to not be fat and makes money doing so.
So what if you don’t like her or her methods, so long as she is doing no harm and might actually be doing some good (as in inspiring some people to become less fat).
Christine - a big part of the hate is backlash from her KB DVD that came out. Terrible form and essentially no knowledge of the device or exercises. There was a big LA times piece. (Note: they did say some thing in there that were untrue and had to print a retraction.)

This must be the article you are referring to.
Too bad that she didn’t do her due diligence. I can understand why more serious trainers might be irked by her. However, I guess I put all of the weightloss/get fit quick gimmicks in the same box and pretty much ignore them.
If the products she is peddling are actually dangerous (maybe the diet pills), then she deserves whatever shame is thrown her way. If those products are simply useless, well that encompasses most of the crap being sold.
As far as the kettle ball dvd, I will believe her form is horrible, but those who buy the dvd will probably watch it once while sitting on the couch eating a tub of ice cream and tell themselves they will start their diet tomorrow. (I have come to this conclusion about any exercise video based upon experiences with college roommates.)

I have a question for John Romaniello: have you ever watched her on ‘Biggest Loser’, and if so, what did you think of her methods for training people?
I know this question wasn’t for me but I didn’t like her yelling methods. I don’t respond well to yelling and never yelled at any of my clients in order to get my point across. She’s not a strink but on that show, they try to be which I don’t like that much.
