Jesus or Burn

It’s kind of like not looking at a train wreck.

You’re wrong Steve0. You don’t understand what Jesus says at all.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Show mercy, which is to say, be compassionate and forgiving towards your fellow man and God will be equally merciful, compasionnate and forgiving towards you.

There are no qualifications to that verse, no restrictions or special hoops to jump through.

So that little African kid who has everyone so worried won’t end up burning eternally just because he’s never heard of Jesus. If he’s merciful and compassionate and forgiving, he’ll be quite ok. (Assuming, for the sake of discussion, that there is an afterlife.)

If he’s been merciful, he’ll be shown mercy.

Similarly for all those of other religions and/or no religion. It’s not which book you believe or which way you bend, bow, kneel or cartwheel; nor is it how many times you pray or to how you chose to name your god; it’s all about how you treat your fellow man.

Show mercy, and you’ll be shown mercy.

That so simple and wise a message can be constantly overlooked and ignored is really very sad.

Whether there is an afterlife or not, whether God exists or not; simply be kind and compassionate towards every other human you encounter, everywhere, everyday and your life (this life and the next one, if any) will be better for it.

Agreed. We are dealing with someone who bases his arguements on a book that has been mistranslated many times over, and dissected and put together by a power hungry emperor,Constantine to serve his political ambitions. The Mayans have made more accurate predictions than those found in the “bible”.This is also someone who totally disregards the proven fossil record in terms of how long mankind has been here. Let him have his fantasies, ignorance is bliss. Thanks for the entertainment though Stevio!

I am bored at work? And its bloody amusing.

Anyone else up for a future boycott of any and all SteveO threads?
This is the solution, of course, but I don’t think it could work. There will always be some newbie to jump in, or someone who doesn’t participate in the boycott and posts on the thread. Just seeing numbers in the “Views” column would probably be enough encouragement for Steve0 to continue.

Worse, he might start posting his sermons in other threads, as part of whatever else discussion is going on at the time. Or start posting under a new pseudonym who’s not being boycotted.

Religion can be an interesting topic to discuss; the problem here is that Steve0 doesn’t propose topics for discussion; but simply condemns, through ridiculous slogans, all those who don’t think exacly as he does.

Well, folks, I have been away for awhile living my life – yes it is good to have a life. You guys should try it sometime!

I went onto T-Nation expecting to find something new. What did I find, the same blah, blah, blah, blah – man’s “grand” ideas about how the universe works and more slander against the Lord of Heaven and His Messiah – God Incarnate – The Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you guys not see the “handwriting on the wall?” With all of the wars going on and the nuclear threats – especially in the Middle East – tells me that the end times are a commin’.

[b] The choice is yours: Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and call out to Him, or burn.

          Bow or Burn

There is no other choice friends. It is either flee off of the broad road that is leading you to destruction in an eternal Hell and get onto the narrow way that leads to LIFE. Yes LIFE – life eternal.

The day is coming that you will no longer be able to make that choice. Make it now. The time is short.

         Bow or Burn

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but thta the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

John 3:16-18

I seriously…SERIOUSLY…doubt that Steve is anywhere near this vocal or obnoxious in his “real life” as far as religion. Someone would have sent him “home” by now.

Spinoza went a bit further than non-literalism… he was essentially an atheist…

His expulsion was early on. They tried to bribe him into renouncing his position, but money meant little to Spinoza. He’s a very cool guy, what I picture as a true philosopher.

Can we equate his calling all of existence God, with atheism? I’d have to think about that. Got some links?

I believe that idea is called Pantheism:

Pantheism: “the doctrine that God is the transcendent reality of which the material universe and human beings are only manifestations: it involves a denial of God’s personality and expresses a tendency to identify God and nature”

I agree with this post.

Wait, don’t do this yet. I want to get told “Bow or Burn” first. I feel like I am being left out.
Don’t worry I hear it’s a dry heat!

Steveo has good intentions he just needs to rethink his methods.

Talking about religion is one thing. Telling all the members in a new thread every three weeks that they’re going to hell is crossing the line.

I thought about this some more and have decided to declare you the…

…Hypocrite of the month!
And you are a horse’s ass.

Entertain me, you loon.

Yes, because I think you are a schizophrenic lunatic who has little grasp on reality at all, and insists on starting stupid threads about how your fucked up beliefs and your imaginary friend are somehow going to put me in a place inside the Earth that is filled with a big man with wings in a lake of fire and make me stay there for eternity (something that people cannot fathom).

So yea, you’re going over the line. If a Muslim came on here and talked about his jihad on America and how he were all going to hell, he would probably be traced by his IP address and arrested and then sent to Cuba.

You, however, get away with it. Fucked up.

Oh boo hoo. I hate to offend your virgin little eyes with my hateful slurs.

So you’re not only insane, you’re a bitch too. Glad that’s out of the way. You must be tons of fun at parties.

Oh Stop you persecuted little Christian you. You don’t preach Christ, you preach your insane Superchristian hateful ignorant beliefs.

You are as close to Christ in your words as my left nut.

Good for you. You get 20 Heaven Points for not telling me to shut up. It doesn’t change a damn thing.

Caring! HAHAHAHA.

This is the fucking internet. Caring and all that crap has no relevance here. I try to help people on here with the stuff I know about, and, though my lifitng knowledge is limited, it is the best I can do.

You go on the politics section and tell all of us to “Bow or burn”. Sure sounds caring SteveO!

Ooooh you’re a hoot.

Forget what I said about you being boring at parties.

Think about this and correct your postion if you feel a need to do so. I will accept your apology alos which I do think is in order.
LOL

I’d slam my dick in a door before I apologized to you.

Oh, my, that was vulgar. How do I sleep at night?

Steve, you forgot or avoided to quote my post and reply to it. Could it be it rings a few bells ? Maybe the big donging bell of
HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder)and its dongin’ in your face.

So what are you going to do about your HPD . Denial is a lonely place.

Good intentions. Ahh, the paving material for the road to hell that we’re all apparently walking down by not listening to these lunatic ravings. I love good intentions, but not as much as I love this exercise in mental masturbation.

[i]
I wanna die just like Jesus Christ
I wanna die on a bed of spikes
I wanna die come see paradise
I wanna die just like Jesus Christ

I wanna die just like JFK
I wanna die on a sunny day
I wanna die just like JFK
I wanna die in the USA

I wanna die
I wanna die

I wouldn’t sell my soul
But I’d hang for this
I gotta get my goal
Cause I’d hang for this

I guess the only way to haven is to be like Ann Coulter…

(1) The rainforest question was easily answered earlier in this thread. You should read it before you post.

(2) Man didn’t live 500,000 years ago.
You seem to have believed a lie.

  1. Opposite to you i have a live.

  2. He did. You believe the earth was created in 6 days? You believe the earth is just 10000 years old? If you believe something that 100% of all scientist on earth say is false, you are an stupid, ignorant nutcase, simple as that.

To believe any of that makes EXACTLY as much sense as believing you get 72 virgins in paradise if you blow yourself up in an isreaeli pizza place. Why on earth should they be wrong and youre right, why?

About 95% percent of all wars in history were caused by religous intolerance, the only conclusion is that you are evil.
What in the world are you talking about now? You want to relate born-again Christians to Islamic facists?

When was the last time a Christian blew up a bus? a plane?

Anyway, stop changing the topic to divert the facts.

The fact is that you have [b] no proof that the Earth is older than that. Pseudo science relies upon carbon dating which presupposes that everything on Earth was always the way it is now. The fact is that this is not true, so the dates are way way off.

Yes, I have faith the Bible is right. You might have faith that Darwin and other “scientists” are right. You just choose to place your faith in man, while I choose God.

It is that simple. The problem will occur at the end of our respective lives:

(1) If you are right – I die and nothing happens. I lived a good life here and cared enough about others to tell them what I believe.

(2) If I am right about the truth of God’s Word – I go to Etneral Glory, and you, my friend, if you don’t repent and get saved, go to a place of utter torment forever and ever.

You take man, I’ll take God!

Bow or Burn, Ken Kaniff – that is exactly what the Bible teaches.
Headhunter wrote:
Steve,

I think your conception of sin is off the mark. To sin means that we make a conscious choice to do evil. How can a being be born in sin?
The view of being born in sin is Biblical. That is what the Book teaches. We have inherited Adam’s sinful nature when he and his wife chose to sin way back when. I am not going to bother quoting all of the verses, but needless to say this is what the Bible teaches.
That’s simply irrational. Remember, the Bible is written to attract an audience, with terror and fear, and hope of redemption. You’ve got to read it that way, or the book becomes nonsensical (as Spinoza points out).
Why do I have to read it that way? Because you say so? This Spinoza character says so? What is he God?

The Bible was made to be read literally, and I have to tell you that 150 years ago, most Americans would have agreed that it is literal. You are historically and theologically innaccurate and just plain wrong. You cannot be a Christian and have a low view of Christ’s Words. Period.
One reason that the world is becoming less religious is that humanity has moved on. Fear and terror simply don’t work as well on more educated minds. Christianity needs to change its appeal to a more rational stance.

HH
Wrong again HH! The reason that humanity is becoming less religious is because of increasing sin. I am well versed in this because the Bible also tells us that during the “last days” this will happen. You see, God has not left anything to chance and even has gone to great lengths to tell us what to expect.

The end is near…

…Bow or Burn, HH – that is what Jesus taught!

This is not a public space you dispshit assclod. It is a private business that so far has not acted to displace you from it’s premises.

That is a huge difference. I’ll try to remind you again about the concepts of theft and trespass.
This is a public space on a privately owned internet site. Just like in a public space on private property – if it allows one type of speech, it must (within the laws, of course) allow others.

The fact is that you come on and speak blasphemey, but according to Vroomspeak, you are allowed to blaspheme God, but I am not allowed to proclaim Him.

Vroom, your illogic and irrational behavior when it comes to the things of God only tells me that you have a deep hatred of God. Why? What bad has God done to you? Why do you hate Him?

Bow or burn, Vroomy – this is excactly what God, the Bible, and Jesus taught!
vroom wrote:

If Steveo gave equal importance to all of the words of Jesus he’d see that the Bible says that heaven is full of children, and obviously this refers to the fact that they are innocent, though of course they have “sin within them” and could do bad things, make bad choices, if they lived long enough.

However, Steveo isn’t very good at thinking issues through to really understand what Jesus was saying. He goes for the literal interpretation, of the parts he prefers, and continues to mash them up as well.

What a dufus.
I have thought this through…again, Vroomy makes ASSuptions that are completly false to make him feel better about his ridiculous positions.

Anyway, Vroomy, I believe in an age of accountabilty whereupon a child who dies before that age will go directly to Heaven. I believe that the Bible does teach this, however what the age is I don’t know. This is up to God.

For adults it is clear – you have rejeced Christ and God will hold YOU, VROOM accountable. What’s more, is that you will remember this internet “conversation” when you face God if you don’t get right with Him.

Vroom, get right with God –

Bow or Burn – for it is what God has taught!
