I would get the weapon or seperate myself from the situation. Granted, it could be easier said than done and life-threatening self defense knows no gender.
But does getting kicked in the nuts give you free range to wail on a woman? No. You can stop yourself from being assaulted by restraint, but no retallitory assault, on your part, should be performed.

I don’t consider myself a Jay-Z “hater,” but at the same time I don’t feel stupid for reacting the way I did. My only mistake was in not researching the “footage” before I responded.
Besides, you came to his defense while still under the impression that he was beating up this woman, so maybe you’re the one who should be rethinking his reaction.

Mr. Nasty, does this sort of thing happen to you a lot? Maybe you should try visiting some different clubs or something. I’m sure there are plenty of nice girls out there that don’t want to hurt you.
If you can’t take down 95% of women without having to resort to kicking their ever-loving asses, then you’re in serious need of some time in the weight room, my man. I’ve personally torn fighting women apart on numerous occasions, and never had to resort to close-fisted ass-whooping. Come on, man. You don’t need to be knocking women out for Christ’s sake.
Obviously if a woman is threatening your life with a lethal weapon, then we’re talking about an entirely different scenario. Was that the scenario upon which you were basing your analysis of the Jay-Z video? Seems to me you jumped to his defense before knowing the facts as quickly as we jumped to condemn him. Chris powers- i was defending jay-z. all these guys were against him before they knew the situation at hand. i also did not know the situation but didnt start assuming he just hit her and he’s this bad guy.
bandgeek-your name says it all. i live in indy, theres not that much violence. i have been hit in the face by a girl several times. i pushed her but i never threw a swing of any kind. i just wanted to get her off, she was psycho

i do listen to rap, and for the most part they are scum. whether judged by lyrics or actions, they prove themselves to be scum more often than not…
Chris- I think it was more of a slap anyway. I based it on everyone just saying he hit a woman. I watched the video. Obviously I Assumed she did something to provoke it. I may have been wrong I admit that much. But i was right in saying he just didnt come up to this lady and strike her. I nver said i’d hit a woman but if she jacks with my manhood or uses a weapon she has another thing coming. Look at the title of the thread obviously this Vince guy didnt do anything but assume also. I apologize for the misunderstanding but in this case i have to agree with the randman on this one. It may be ONE of the stupidest threads ever started. I listen to Jay-Z, and alot of other rap too. Now when you(you referring to whoever mentioned it) say all rappers are scum, it depends on your definition of scum. If “scum” to you is someone who is not bound by the laws and ways that society as a whole tries to force you into following. There is absolutely no sense in saying one should never, EVER hit a women, just because that’s the way it is. Life is all about choices and consequences that come with those choices. Certain women may choose to live lives in which they are going to be hit once in a while, such as prostitutes or wives of abusive husbands. Now, none of this officially applies to Sean Carter, as the true nature of that video has been revealed as a joke. But the point still must be made. Even if Sean did really hit that girl and she did nothing to cause it, he should not immediately and forever be labeled as a “scumbag”. I don’t feel it’s fair to judge someone so harshly based on one mistake in life. I’m seventeen, and when I was fourteen I went too far with a girl, making excessive unwanted advances, and that was a pretty crumby thing to do. However I don’t believe I should be considered a bad person now because of that one mistake I made. I had actually got into immense trouble for that offense, too. People go through life, doing some things right, fucking up in other things, and learning as life goes on. Back to the point, a women is not immune to reaping what she sows simply for being a women. This is just another societal dogma we are raised to believe. Don’t get me wrong, I would never attack a girl to an extreme or kick her ass, because it is not necessary, being that women in general are not strong enough to cause us serious harm, but I would not hesitate to slap her if she was excessevely voilent towards me. Step out of your AFC box, once in your life.
