There is a pastor here in Detroit, by the name of Philip Jackson. My grandparents personally know this pastor. He has said that because of a skin condition he had, they wouldnt let him attend school and as a result he never learned to read or write. Well he got a job with Ford Motor Company as a janitor I believe. Then one day there was a test for a supervisor position.
Now mind you, he could neither read or write. He said he prayed and anointed the test sheet with holy oil and a voice told him every answer to mark. He ended up getting all the answers correct. The company believed he cheated and had him retest. The result was the same the second time around. Im kind of skeptical as I dont have all the details. Is there any rational explanation or is this truly a miracle??? Heres a link:
Possible? absolutely. Did it happen the way he tells it? I dunno. God works in people’s lives everyday, it would be more believable though if he was inspired to go back to school but what makes sense to us doesnt really apply to god.

You really think some retard poured “holy oil” on an exam and got all the answers right? Couldn’t he just drink the oil and magically be able to read and write? Seems like that would serve him better over the long haul.
I have no idea regarding the credibility of this particular story. However, those who put God in a box and limit his power and authority by claiming he only works in certain ways are very mistaken. I’ve had miracles in my life that can only be attributed to God and I will never say that God is incapable of working through this, or any other person, any way that he wants.
Doesn’t matter how it happened (if it actually did), but if it did actually happen (some particular guy going from janitor to executive), then good for him.

I heard it works this way. God helps dudes like this, because it makes a cool story, but let’s other people wallow in shit because it’s a bland, boring story with no commercial value down the line. It’s marketing 101 and God has a phd…
This is hilarious. What format did he use for his resume for that position? Did he type it all in wingdings? “Hey Reverend, I’m not sure, but I think that’s a picture of a dog. What does this mean?”
“Uh, yeah I think I’d be good at this job, or being a pastor, because you know, I’m really good at bullshitting people.”

Or lets them wallow because of their lack of faith.
Stories like this make all of us look bad. And we can’t seem to figure out why people think Christians are a bunch of loonies.
Do I think God would help him improve his quality of life? Absolutely. Do I think God would help him commit fraud, and then put him into a position where he has no idea how to do the job, or experience to help him? No.
Do I believe miracles happen? Sure. Do I believe every huckster calling himself a pastor can do them? Again, no. This story puts him right up there with Creflo Dollar and Jesse Duplantis.
Here are my further thoughts after letting this story fulminate and percolate through this great sponge of mine.
Im assuming his story isn’t total bullshit. He obviously has the skin condition. I’m hoping someone did a check on his employment records and he did in fact go from janitor to executive.
He was neglected in school. It pissed him off. He found strength in his faith. He is legitimately smart. Borderline genius. He teaches himself to read. He teaches himself geometry. He aces the test and is promoted.
He packages and reduces his story as allegory and spits it out on Sundays. For once he is the center of attention instead of marginalized. He likes this feeling. He feels he is doing the lords work. People love his story. etc etc.
This is a mediocre troll at best. However, a google search reveals that the story is widely circulated and believed, so I’ll reply.
I found the website of the religious institution he belongs to, and their biography on him contradicts the parts of his life story you posted. Some minor contradictions, but it makes you wonder - if these are the exaggerations that are uncovered through a thirty second google search, what else is he saying that is not actually the truth?
The biography says he was hired by Ford as a production operator, you said he was hired as a janitor.
It says that he was “passed through” school, graduating high school unable to read. You said he wasn’t allowed to attend school.
I’ll admit that I didn’t watch more than five seconds of your embeded video because that cliched tv preacher voice is just too obnoxious.
You say that he believes a voice told him the answers to the test. If this is not another exaggeration, this is of course indicitive of some form of psychosis, or some type of drug intoxication.
This is in no way passing judgement on anyone’s faith. It is just to say that this one particular pastor appears to be full of shit.
wtf is a production operator? That sounds like resume for janitor to me. If you had watched the embed youda seen he says passed through school too. So while I agree this is BS you havent uncovered the evidence.
