It would be awesome if they would take offense…maybe even be shocked into making lifestyle changes but I highly doubt they would go that far.

Yeah, fine line for sure. Our gym is known to not market things well by doing too many things at once, and it all blending together.

Really need an idea that will get their attention.

amazing first episode.

I’m in the thinking stages of how to get this shown at my gym.

got a few topic titles in mind, anyone care to give their input on them?

“Attention Parents, Insert # Ways You Support Child Abuse Everyday”

“Attention Parents, How 95% of You Support Child Abuse”

I want something that shocking and grabs their attention.

I give monthly seminars there and I would probably do like a quick 10 min intro, then roll the footage from the show. We are in desperate need to reach the kid market and perhaps this is one way to do it.

See if you can find the clip of that 15 year old girl saying she only has 5-7 years to live because her liver is shutting down. That certainly got my attention.

This guy is my fucking hero!

Being a fat ass when I was younger, constantly being tormented by kids for being fat, and finally losing weight my senior year of highschool and getting in shape, I hope this guy changes the foods in schools. I thought it was awesome I could chow down on all the pizza and shit in my school. Now I realize how bad that shit is. Plus, my parents were and still are blind to healthy eating. I hope this gets nation wide attention and actually slaps stupid parents in the face with the facts and changes there outlooks.

But, in America, a place that elected the worst president in history twice, some people are just too stupid and naive to believe anything.[/quote]

Well isn’t it easier to ignore the truth than have to face it?

Really emotional first episode. This guy Jamie is perfect for this job it seems, I really like his balance of professionalism, determination, open mindedness and fun-ness (for lack of a better word).

Not if it’s over his friend dying in battle.

She Say and I sent the kids to private school for 6 years and packed them healthy lunches everyday…we put them in public school for 2 years and they literally blew up…they’re back in privte school now and taking their lunches…we let them buy school lunch occasionally, but it’s maybe 2 times per month.

I think a lot of the problem is that parents refuse to step the fuck up and set boundaries…other people have mentioned this…I hear parents bitch all the time their kid will only eat cheese pizza or vanilla ice cream…guess what genius, your fat kid gets hungry enough he’ll eat whatever you tell him…it’s seeped into everything…

I have parents that tell me their 7 year old kid is dropping out of my soccer league because they have to run too much in practice…or they’re quitting because they want to be on the ‘red’ team because they like the color red…I realize the parents could be making shit up to get their money back, but if that’s the case man-the-fuck-up and tell me you think you’re kid sucks and you want a refund.

To try and teach good eating habits to my daughter, my wife and I have taught our daughter to eat the foods off our plates - once she started solid foods. There is a lot of foods for toddlers but much of it I would not eat. This is quite a bit of work and we get strange looks in restaurants when we refuse a kids menu but we think it will be worth it. Take a look at kids menus and they are the same as the school lunches.

This practice has helped me clean up my own diet and we actually eat out far less - because it is hard to get good quality foods in most restaurants (or at least enough to fill me up).

On a related note, I watched King Corn (documentary about corn) and my wife now understands why I insist on grass feed meat whenever possible.

This brought back memories. My folks have pics of me as a toddler sitting on the table eating with my dad from his plate. I’m all for this. Kids should be able to eat what we eat and atleast for me, has kept me from becoming picky about any food.

That’s awesome that you’re eating at restaurants less too. I enjoy eating at a nice place every now and then but you can’t beat putting together a meal by yourself, with your family, or with a significant other.

Just watched this for the first time and think that it is a brilliant idea. Seeing some of the things that are being fed to this nation is sickening. If we want to continue to be the most dominant country in the world, we need to start eating in a much healthier fashion, and that starts with our youth.

On a different note…did everyone get their free big mac the other day?

Jamie Oliver is an absolute legend. Got all his books, and he always says in his introductions that it’s his aim to get people thinking about healthy affordable food. Whenever I need ideas for clean meals his books come up with some really great options (sometimes they require a bit of tweaking), and I’m always astounded by how good things taste. In Cook With Jamie he’s even got a section on how people in the UK are severely lacking quality protein in their diet and how all his recipes aim to address that in some way. I’d definitely recommend all of his books to you US T-Nationers if they’re available over there!

He’s certainly done great things in sorting out a great deal of British school dinners and the way people think about food, but the US is in a different league in terms of size and how dietary habits are ingrained. If anyone can do it, it’s him.

i was just starting my A levels (age 17) when his crusade was on - made a definate change in the stuff we were offered, and they took away all the vending machines with candy in them!

I’m really enjoying this. Thanks
