Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

fuck. why does american tv have to be presented in such a dumb ass way? it’s unwatchable.[/quote]

Agreed, the difference between Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares UK and US is ridiculous if you’ve ever seen that. The intro to the US version with effin’ knives flying about and [‘Chef’] Ramsay catching one like a smug twat is just plain silly. Not to mention the big who-ha with him walking out ‘for the first time’ every episode and the constant interviews with the employees and flash backs every two minutes. /Pathetic Rant.

How did you manage to watch this from the UK by the way?

youtube it. doesnt seem to have all the parts though

Those 45 minutes really showed how this country is totally fucked.

It’s just mind boggling that any of those families can constantly eat that shit food without pause to question how it might have a correlation with their being morbidly obese.

It’s infuriating and at the same time makes you feel bad for those kids who have such shitty influences around them.

You can already see the feel-good plot lines for the show developing… Jamie is going to win over the bitch lunch lady eventually, the awkward kid is going to become a good cook for his family, the school board is going to adopt his program, etc…

I love the radio host w/ such low self esteem that he takes Oliver’s attempts as a personal insult…

I’ll have to watch the rest sometime.

I’d like to see Chris Shugart’s comments on that series.

There has to be a lot of psychology in their (ppl from Huntingtons) resistance, defence mechanisms and all that babble.

This guy is my fucking hero!

Being a fat ass when I was younger, constantly being tormented by kids for being fat, and finally losing weight my senior year of highschool and getting in shape, I hope this guy changes the foods in schools. I thought it was awesome I could chow down on all the pizza and shit in my school. Now I realize how bad that shit is. Plus, my parents were and still are blind to healthy eating. I hope this gets nation wide attention and actually slaps stupid parents in the face with the facts and changes there outlooks.

But, in America, a place that elected the worst president in history twice, some people are just too stupid and naive to believe anything.

Jamie Oliver looks like a good guy but does he actually believe he can reverse decades of systematic brainwashing and robotization of the people with the help of some reality shows?
Seriously take a look at those people! they’re not only fat and ignorant, but they also look like retarded, plain and simple.

Reversing this would need colossal effort and sacrifice and not some self-righteous money-making reality show. Not only the food industry and big pharma don’t want people lead healthy lifestyles, but most of the people also don’t have the will to pull through that shit by themselves.

This is absolutely not place for politics…Good look with Bankrupt Obama fuckhead

On to topic…I do like what this guy is doing…I wish that more people would take charge like this. Why does it take some eone from another country to come over here and start? People need to wake the fuck up

He done it in the UK a few years ago and had absolutley no fucking impact other then letting a few cheap ass MPs grab a few soundbites( includint the Prime Minister)

He’s a fake noveau cockney cunt

^^^^And who the fuck are you?

the impact he had on the uk was pretty small even though he had a huge series…i mean everyone comended him for it but child obesity is still huge.

i was raised to eat whole foods, rice and meat n veggies, african food, and have my ass whooped if i didnt finish my plate before i left the dinner table. and eating in front of the tv? or telling my mother what to buy at the grocery store? out of the question

i see these parents nowdays pushing a cart around the supermarket and the kid throwing tantrums, getting sugary cereal, sweets and all kids of trash thrown in. its not only a case of people eating shit, its a case of parents not instilling a sense of discipline in kids. thus they are growing up fat pussies, with no self control or self discipline.

these people he tries to ‘save’, im not sure, you’re gonna have to force feed some of them. and the government dont give a shit. keep the people fat and happy, dont regulate anything, fast food is big bucks!

Well,At first I was kinda skeptical because of the preview…A grown man crying is never a pretty site but when someone actually legitimately cares about us and how we eat then I support him and his cause.

Yeah, I give him loads of credit for trying to get something done, even if he is a huge idealist and not very pragmatic at all. If he can get even a few kids to pick healthy food (or learn the difference between tomatoes and potatoes, yeesh that was scary), or teach a few parents how to cook better meals for their families…then it’s worth it.

Just saw it, was amazed at how bad those families are. How did those children not know the most basic vegetables. I can understand not knowing eggplant and radish but they didn’t know tomatoes and potatoes either. They didn’t know how to use a knife! What have their parents been feeding them for them to never experience a knife!? Have they never even eaten in a restaurant. That was just unbelievable to me.

Well he started off as a fake cockney, essex lad, cheeky chappy style chef, with some good food, but a really obnoxious, yuppie, hipster tv show. Road a moped and said ‘pucker’ with a load of fake friends hanging round.

But I guess he’s grown up, has kids now, and is trying to use his platform for some good, some social change etc,

His heart’s definitely in it but he really was never the cool, ‘city slicker’ l.a.d. that he tried to sell us before.
