@austin: yeah the videos basically saying 1-3d is on the WADA banned list and certain feds will test positive for it… the powerlifting fed I’m wanting to lift in uses the wada banned list so I guess its out even though I may not even compete this year if there isnt an appropriate regional show. can’t find the supp you speak off though, google seems to think it doesnt exist

Good day overall! Would like to have a video of my depth in the squats, because it’s almost as if smolov is working TOO WELL… but then I’m heading back up in weight again, so it is probably helping a lot. Volume could/should have been higher for the arms but the gym was stupid busy and I couldn’t couldn’t be bothered to wait 5-10 minutes for more equipment free…
If you wont use a sukpp with 1-3 then that one is out as that is the main ingredient.

I can tell I’m recovering adequately and eating enough because I’m finding it seriously hard to not go in on an off day. I’ll resist since smolov is fairly unforgiving.

Thanks mayn. By the time I do a meet (which could be quite awhile) I’m hoping to be able to hit over 400 pounds and well over 500 in the deadlift. 1200 total would be sweet but I’m real far off that at the moment.

What am I “doing”? Most likely the sexy ass girls. So is the goal. I thought I remembered you being a house fan. The night I fly out tiesto has his opening party at Pacha so I really want to try and catch that even if we go super late. I’m going with a cousin and a load of guys he’s been with before, but for me, it’s basically the ultimate joint celebration of both turning 21 and graduating university. Excited is understatement.
Maybe the RFL won’t be necessary, but it’s definitely a tool I’m happy to use if I need to.

^ no missed reps but today was extremely tough, lots of grinders. I would really like to know if I’m hitting depth. I really think I am, but would like video proof.

^ Just practicing setup, when this goes well it really does take my shoulders out of the movement and cause zero strain there as well as halfing the ROM or so. It also provides an incredibly solid base for paused reps etc. Thanks to bug for the one foot at a time trick and stormthebeach’s blog for trying to get that upper back tightness. Going to use this setup tomorrow (with a stupidly long warmup to practice) for bench and hope to hit a rep PR of some kind. Regardless of if this way would build my chest much or not, if I can bench without shoulder pain, this is probably the setup I should use as I progress forward.

@jab1: Thanks man! Means a lot honestly. I’ve always felt I had the “genetics” for a decent squat (based purely on having average legs and calves untrained vs. zero upper body muscle and also on being able to jump pretty high/far naturally) so it’s nice to gradually be working up to more respectable poundages, feels good. You have a log up here? I’ll definitely check it out if so! Always cool to see guys from the UK on here.

Do you have a meet scheduled? I know a lot of guys that have used smolov with great success. You should do well.

I’m checking the BDFPA (British Drug Free Powerlifting Association) for events but the at the moment they don’t have a date for the next event in my region, another regional meet that would is reasonably close is in October though, so I’d consider that. if nothing else came up. Really I want to compete sooner but I’m pretty set on competing in this division.

I wouldn’t really have considered either but they are both super cheap in a sale so I’m thinking they may be worth a try. Guess I’m checking the WADA list again lol.
Also looking at a basic preworkout with:: (AAKG, CEE, Beta Alanine) 6.5g,
(Glucuronolactone, Tyrosine, Chocamine, Guarana) 5g if anyones had experience with a similar preworkout stim.
edit: didnt bother with the daa, too much mystery surrounding it for my liking, the Alpha gpc seemed worth a try for literally 4GBP. Picked up the basic preworkout since it was super reduced (and it has a creatine in it which means my creatine mono dosage can be halved and didnt have to reorder yet), along with a couple box’s of half price protein bars. Good stuff.
