Im starting to really like SSB Squats

I always seem to do something stupid when I paste the link…

OMG COOL !! You’re another one of those people in that lifting group where everyone’s name is kyle? Lol.

Awsome lift though, you stayed so upright, ha-ha.

I think his name is probably Jake…

ME Bench 45x10, 95x5, 135x3, 185x1, 225x1, 275x1, add shirt 5 bd 315x3, 4 bd 365x3, 3 bd 405x1, 455xmostly, add reverse Strong 2 bd 405x1, 1bd x1, 405x1
Reverse Grip Grenade Tricep Ext
BB Curls

So, I got to touch in my shirt. It was real fast on the way up too.

June 6th
ME Fat Bar Floor Press 70x10, add 2 chains/side x5, 120x3, 160x3, 210x3, 230x3, 250x2, add ram 270x1, 1, 1, 1
Kroc Rows (with strap) 80x10, 145x35 (didn’t know I had it in me)
Scoops Press on Leg Press 1 plate per side x10, 10, 9
Angle Bar Tricep Ext 140x20, 180x10, 200x7

Good session! I was definitely pleased with the floor pressing. The ram for floor pressing was a bit awkward though.

June 18th
ME Deadlift 135x5, 225x3, 315x1, add suit 365x1, 405x1, 455x1, 495x1, 545x1, 585x1, 605x0 got it to the knees
Sumo Deadlift 405 100 in chains x1, 1, 1, 1
Leg Press 3 plates/side Strong x10, 10, 10 (top end mostly)
Hanging Leg Raises BWx10, 10, 10 (glute squeeze each rep of last set)

Kind of disappointed that 605 didn’t go, but I think some concentrated lockout work and continuing the SLDLs will get me there in a few months.

Probably going to switch my training to something different soon. Twice a week linear progression style sort of thing. Squat and bench one day and deadlift and press the other. Maybe there will be an accessory/GPP day also we’ll see. My equipment selection may not be as good either unless I find a sweet gym or sell my bike and buy my own set-up.

Gonna shoot for a 585 or better squat on Monday we’ll see how it goes.

June 25th
ME Squats 55x10, 145x5, 235x3, 325x1, 375x1, 235x1, 325x1, 415x1, 465x1, add light wraps 505x1, add heavy wraps 555x1, no wraps rev AVG 465x7

20 lb PR with relative ease. There was maybe 20 lbs left but I don’t think 585 was there like I was hoping, so I didn’t go for it.

July 13th
DE Squats 45x10, 5, 135x5, add AVG x3, 245x3, 3, 3, 3, 3 Walking out squats with high band tension sucks!
Some light deadlifting
Seated Leg Curls 110x10, 125x10, 140x10, 155x10, 10
Ab Wheel BWx7, 7, 7

So, I moved to Wisconsin (this is why I haven’t trained in a couple weeks) and was pretty bummed about leaving the gym and training partners where I lifted in Iowa, but things look pretty good here and I found a new place to train. It has most of what I want to train with and best of all they seem open to me building things and leaving some equipment there to use. Highlights: deadlift bar, squat bar, nice benches, and some good machines. Downside: no monolift or band pegs (but I will remedy the latter).

Glad to hear you found a good place to train! We’re bummed not having you around anymore either, hope the move is going smoothly!

July 14th
DE Bench Press 45x10, 95x5, add minis x3, 135x3, 3, 3, 3, 3
Grenade Ball Reverse Grip Tricep Ext. (2 hands) 12x10, 14x10, 10
Face-Pulls setting 100x15, 15, 15
Lat Pulldown Machine 12x10, 10, 10 (interesting machine, it was working the lats anyway)

Good to see you posting and training again. How is Wisconsin?

Wisconsin is pretty good, lots of trees, rivers, and lakes. It’s been really hot though, only complaint. The new job starts tomorrow, so that’s exciting and I am looking forward to some good training. The new gym has 2 700 plus deadlifters, one of them pushing 800, so hopefully I can learn a thing or two.

July 16th
6 inch block pulls 135x10, 245x5, 335x3, 425x1, 475x1, 505x2, 2, 2, 2
High Bar Low Box Squats 135x5, 275x5, 5, 5 (I hate high bar squats! I guess I better do more of them…)
Back Raises BW+25x10, 10, 10
Hanging Leg Raises BWx10, 10, 10

I met a couple guys that I’ll be training with tonight and guess what? One of them is named Kyle! It seems to be the most common powerlifting name after all…
