I've Got A Bar And I'm Not Afraid To Use It - Pinkylifting Log

200 UK dollarinos? Dam. I think I paid like 130ish kangaroo dollars

The quote was 200 Maple Leaves. So I guess 100 or so Great British Pound Sterling

Hmm. Almost 50% more to get a bar to the UK than to Australia. How does the total compare to getting deadlift bars from in country? Heard strengthshop is expensive. Rogue. Texas is probably pretty expensive given it’s from the US

Meh, I’m a long way from having a home gym right now, so anything I learn now will probably be irrelevant when we actually get there so haven’t really looked into it.

The dream lol. Where I’m at they just started allowing visiting again so I’m training at my mate’s place. Few months ago he had literally a third of the stuff he has now. Think I’ve been a bad influence. Between the two of us we got a lot of shit now: powerlifting plates, bars, decent rack etc. it’s good fun if a little expensive

living the dream man. I’d happily train on my own forever if I had all the gear, a good training buddy is just icing on the cake!

Never enough equipment. God willing someone will list up a cheap hack squat/leg press machine for dem quads.

Honestly if I had a good rack, with a pullup attachment, a bench, a power bar, a deadlift bar and a bunch of plates, I’d never need to go to a gym again.

Bit harsh on ur gym buds brah but ye there’s a lot of pros and basic set up covers lots

I don’t train with anyone lol and i train with headphones on, so im not making buds in the gym.

That’s where it all starts, slippery slope - you’ll be mortgaging the house to buy a pec deck before you know it!

Re strongarm bar, never did pull the trigger (or enquire about postage - they say email for actual rates those aren’t best rates), had an epiphany about me spending money whilst being in debt already!

Lose nothing in that case lol. Wud u add adjustable DBs, GHR/back raise, leg press/hack squat and/or multipurpose cable/pulley set up to that list of things if u could?

Debt is future problems gains is now and forever.

Haven’t seen too much of ur set up. What do u have? Anything fancy

Adjustable DB’s, maybe. Back raise would be nice I guess but wouldn’t spend much on it. Wouldnt buy a leg press, I never use it and a cable pulley setup would probably be the first thing I added, mostly because I imagine its a cheap and easy bolt on to the side of a rack.

Once the pulley is on I can’t see i’d really need the DBs either. I really do train basic, and lockdown did at least teach me how easy it is to substitute and improvise.

Nothing fancy - bars: cheap 20kg thing, sorta better strength shop bar, trap bar, ssb, football bar, adjustable DBs, eze curl.
Power rack
Adjustable bench
Cheapo plate loaded cable machine
Compact GHR
Standard plates (8x20kg, 4 x 10, 5, 2.5, 1.25kg - allows pretty useful range of stuff on adjustable dumbbells)

Assorted cardio stuff: prowler, battle ropes, treadmill, concept2, KBs (16kg, 24kg)

Plate loaded for the cables is such a win.

Yup I’ve already spent out on weights why pay out again?

Do these get much use?

Checked out ur 325kg on insta. Add some decent flooring to the list unless we want a hole in the concrete
