So you is hook gripping or mix gripping?
Hook gripping my warmups but not there yet for heavy stuff so mix grip when I get over 75%
Sheiko Volume and a calorie deficit hit me hard this morning. Erectors (lel) feel fried. Doing seated good mornings for the first time probably a contributing factor.
Luckily today is double bench and only single squat.
Cant train this weekend so squeezing 4 sessions into 5 days, tomorrow’s deadlift sessions will be interesting.
Bring it!
Why? I don’t lift as much as you (yet) but I’ve found that hook isn’t something that needs “training” or “building up” like pretty much you pull hook for a bit and then you got the skills and your thumb used to it and you’re set to hold onto hundreds of kg easily. From then it it just becomes a matter of maintenance and using straps so your thumbs don’t explode.
Yeah?
Might still be doing it wrong, might still be a giant pussy, but at a certain weight the thumb crush pain just tells my body, ‘don’t you dare lift’.
I definitely feel stronger mixed anyhow.
Yes u r little bitch
Don’t think you are meant to feel pain… more like a pressure that can be quite uncomfortable
If you stronger mixed than mixed grip everything?
Did you take special grip steroids or something since you were like complaining before about having a weak grip?
I think it was a temporary thing from not training deadlifts regularly for a while compounded by sweaty gym and no chalk.
I did say at the time I had pulled 250+ strapless before so it was just a fingers crossed and hope it comes back situation.
I have relatively shortish thumbs which might be making things harder but this is definitely pain not pressure.
Ill keep working on it though, even if I cant pull hook this comp I imagine the long term potential is possibly higher and a skill worth learning,
Nah lol
You just want to beat me to a 400 pull!

In the end workout felt pretty breezy. Bench felt particularly light, but I guess boards will do that.
Squats not necessarily ‘easy’ but at least feeling consistent one rep to the next.
Considering 180 was my 1RM a few weeks ago rpe 7 max doubles feels pretty good.
Where’d you find the Sheiko program? Was it from that website Silent Mike endorses/sponsors/whatever?
Bought the official Sheiko app, put in my stats, weight, lifts etc and it put me on advanced medium-volume program. I jumped forward to phase 3 to coincide the programs prep with my contest
Oh nice, is it actually endorsed by the man himself? Because buying his intermediate program online is like $100 for 10 weeks…
It is indeed, the app link is on his website.
The onlin programs include interaction with him, vary degrees at each price level but includes some conversation, customisation and form reviews from him.
This is more cookie cutter based on how you rank in the russian system and whether you are raw or equipped.
Fair enough, still sounds like something I’d like to try in the future. Hope it works out well
U mean Kizen? What a bunch of cunts putting Sheiko’s stuff behind a huge paywall. I hope they are giving Sheiko some of that monies.
Of all the people in the community to bring Sheiko to the wider lifting community why’d it have to be Omar lol. Should’ve been Chad Wesley Smith and Juggernaut
Yeah, that’s the one
What’s wrong with Omar? He isn’t my favourite (JTS for days), but I don’t see what the issue with his content is
