I’m with you 200%, @garagerocker13.
I was more disappointed than I have even been in years when COVID-19 became just one more divisive, political issue.
God help us.

I really thought that this grave threat to our way of life would bring us together as a nation to fight a common enemy. Turns out, it wasnt a serious enough threat to our survival, and once that was decided upon this became just another hijacked tragedy.
Call it TDS if you want, but im putting the blame for this next level divisiveness directly on Trumps shoulders. His platform is over 50% just blaming democrats. He encourages disrespect towards those on the other side of the aisle. My favorite moment from the past 20 years of politics is McCain shutting down that woman calling Obama a muslim at the campaign rally. My level of respect for that man was already high, but that right there put it at 11/10. Fucking stud american hero. Now we have a POTUS with nothing in his background i respect, who disrespects and denigrates McCain, and somehow has veterans frothing at the mouth in support.
Maybe its an issue with politicians who have never served that are tossing aside morals, pride, and values and willing to stoop to any level. I don’t see Dan Crenshaw stooping. I didn’t see John Kerry stooping, or mad dog mattis. Mayor Pete handles himself with respect.
IDK, i just want something different than our political leaders trading on disrespect, and an “Us vs Them” mentality where the “them” are hundreds of millions of other americans.
I’d have tagged you as an Obama voter. Color me surprised.
I liked McCain, and voted for him. I am a bit more left, and more libertarian on social issues these days, but do not regret that vote. I believe McCain would have done what he believed was the best for the country. I don’t believe that at all for Trump.
The stark difference between the two shows a sad direction that the GOP has gone IMO. From the real deal, to bone spurs draft dodger.
Oh i voted for Obama. Not because he was overwhelmingly better. Honestly was a tossup between the two for me. But Jesus Hercules Christ i was not going to put McCains VP pick anywhere fucking near anything important.
Oh.
Yeah. True that. Your respect for Obama is also 11/10. Fucking stud american hero. I’m sure you’d have voted for McCain if Palin hadn’t been his running mate.
Policy wise they were about equal in my book. From an emotional perspective McCain was a stud american hero, and Obama would be the first black president in america which was historic. So yeah, still about equal.
But then… Palin.
Democrats, if you ever wanted to know how to guarantee an election win…
Black guy=Stud American hero
Cory Booker couldn’t even win the primary elections. It is too bad IMO. I thought he was a good orator and his message seemed to be to try to bring people together.
I am not sure I follow? He didn’t do well because he was better at sports?
Because he scared too many white Dems. Obama was sissy, only half-black, and not descended from American slaves.
There’s the Zeb/Raj coming out!
When you don’t have an external enemy, you look for an internal one. The last thing the pundits and politicians want (and those who pay them) is for Americans to look at them as the real enemy.
You’re an idiot. Booker ain’t exactly Shaka Zulu and is a trekkie. He’s whiter than your flat gravity bound ass.
And he gets mad when people call him a troll. I say embrace it.
Doesn’t take much to scare the white Progressivus americus.
I wouldn’t call it TDS, but I wouldn’t call it completely accurate either. IMO civility in Congress was already at an all-time low during Obama’s admin, and was rapidly circling the drain during GWB. Trump just jammed up the toilet with the final turd.
Granted, it is a BIG giant turd…
Me too and I’m sorry to say we will keep waiting.
It’s not about “look like them,” it’s about not looking like the guy that stuffed them in their lockers and took their lunch money.
