Easier than the 10s last week. Reps are dropping and my spirits are rising.
Fucked up the way I’m supposed to do the accessory work. But here’s what I did:
GMs
3/10/65
RDLs
3/10/115
Stepups
3/10/15
Cuff work and abs.
I have been having increasing pain in my right foot. Felt pain in my right knee during squatting today, which I know is a result of the pain in my foot. Got a referral from my shoulder surgeon and am seeing a DPM on Wednedsday. I should mention I had similar symptoms four years ago in my other foot and ended up with surgery. Hoping to avoid that this time.

The good news is that I accomplished what I set out to do at my meet: I pulled 220 lb. It wasn’t quite double bodyweight, as I weighed in at 111.1, but I’m calling it close enough. Came up pretty damn fast. Here’s the pull.

First, I apologise for not saying this sooner Great JOB!!! Haven’t had allot of free time on my hands lately so i haven’t been keeping up with everyone.
The integrity of the joint at the base of my first toe has deteriorated and begun predislocating, causing stress in other areas of my foot. What started as mild, ignorable pain three weeks ago has turned into pretty dramatic pain every time I roll on the ball of my foot.
The condition will only worsen and could result in a platar plate rupture if I don’t address it now. As a result, I am scheduled for surgery next Thursday. The surgery will involve a midfoot fusion held together via a screw and plate. In addition, I will have a fusion of the second toe and pin inserted from the tip of the toe about four inches down into my foot. The goal of the procedure is to ultimately restore structural integrity to my foot and eliminate pain. I will be on crutches for about six weeks. Total rehab time is estimated at about three months.
It’s a structural deformity. Nothing I’ve done to cause it. I had the other foot fixed for the same problem with a slightly different procedure five years ago. It worked. So I’m hopeful even though I’m sad.
I totally get how you are at once hopeful and sad. That is alot of surgeries for one person to have to take in a short period of time.
But you are Queen of the Rehab. If past performance is any indication of future results (and I think it is) you’ll mope around for a little while and then kick some serious rehab ass and come back stronger than before.
Boo, hate bad news! But Im liking the upper body hit, which is already swole.
Maybe you can start hitting the abs consistently since you wont be using your
core for squats.
oh snap, Snap is right! Bummer But I’m glad to hear your attitude towards it, just a minor set back, and swole upper body for sure. Give arachne a run for her money on that bench record
My commiserations on the foot problems. With your dedication, and all the time you’ll be spending working on 'da gunz, I hope that doesn’t mean you’ll be making mine look puny in comparison.
