I believe I got this from a Dixie post? This is how i did them when i dabbled in it, forgot how i liked them, shes not hard to watch either! See how her butt doesnt come up off bench?
DLs look really good, not sure why you say they are ugly.
Also been wondering how the single leg work is doing? Have you noticed the weaker leg catching up? LOVE your shoes ! They are so cute.
…Im thinking the way you did them may have more of a range and the bench may take some of that off? Ill have to try both ways now to see for myself, but im guessing your way with the gravity pull will be better.

Not related but I really don’t understand how women train in these tiny freaking shorts! I guess their legs don’t look like sausage casings full of gravel like mine do - wuh wuh!
Hey Snap! Looking gorgeous as always! And Oro too - beautiful ladies!
Also love the Oly shoes (I have the same ones in white). I love how they feel when I squat. Its amazing how much better my form is (imho!) when I’m squatting with my oly shoes.
Meh. GMs I can take em or leave em. I really never know what I should be feeling with those. Seated would be interesting - maybe I’ll give them a try!
Sorry that you’re having a hard time finding your mojo - I’ll have to agree with the rest that some sort of “down-cycle” might be good for you, no? I always learn the hard way and get injured, best be preemptive!

Doing any jumps or sprints yet? I feel they would really help you.

Stay tuned.

Nice vids. Legs look awesome, if you don’t mind me sayin’.

Compliments are always encouraged.

Curious about the seated GMs over standing. Can you get much hamstring recruitment out of seated or is it mostly low back?
Low back. The standing ones hit the entire posterior chain.

Was that your coach I heard in the background? Nice shoes, where did you get them? How thick are the soles?
Yes, that was my coach. The shoes were a gift for helping him at Worlds. The soles are thick enough to make a difference but still meet IPF guidelines. They are way more rigid than chucks. They provide a very secure base, for sure.

Maschy, you have one of the most beautiful bodies on this site. You shouldn’t disparage it. I thought of you and Alexa when I opened the shoes. I just wish I could do the Oly lifts as well. Perhaps someday.

My husband thanks you profusely for posting that video on my log.

The single leg work is really, really challenging me. Right now, I’m doing single leg step-ups, hammie curls, and BSSs. The only strength differential I notice is on the hammie curls. My right leg is discernably weaker.
I think you’re going to like the shoes. I don’t know why I got away from squatting in mine for so long. I like them because they make me feel more solid on my feet. I have kind of smallish, narrow feet for my height and the shoes definately help as stabilisers. I would never have thought of foot size as a factor but it does feel a lot different when I start getting heavy. I wonder if the IPF would approve clown shoes. Maybe if Titan makes them.

Me too! I wear size 4 chucks. My first comment when trying them on was how stable I felt. I can’t wait to squat with them Monday.

What brand are those shoes? Do help with your depth?
Do-Win private labeled by Pendlay. I’m not sure what you mean by helping with depth. If I have any problem with depth, it’s that I tend to go too deep.
Close-grip bench
Squat singles with my new shoes and a really wide stance and just the bar. Turned my toes in a slight bit to keep knees tracking properly
Bentover barbell rows
Cable bicep curls
Cable tricep pushdowns
HLRs . . . still at 7s . . . move to 8s next week and a video for Joe
Incline DB press
Arnold press . . . first serious attempts at OHPing, which is still scary
Also tried the seated GMs like the girl in the video Up posted. And I like 'em. I think touching tits to the bench will help me keep my back tighter and chest high. Maybe I’ll end up looking like her too if I do them like her.
Found an old picture of myself the other day from early in my marriage. And the transformation in my body is pretty amazing. I started out extremely skinny and pretty damn weak. One of those girls who probably struggled to carry a gallon of milk. Then I gained a ton of weight with my pregnancies and was flabby for a while in my late 30s. Didn’t weigh all that much more, but was definitely out of shape. Then discovered powerlifting and leaned up/firmed up a bit. I’ll see if I can scan and post the picture. Always interesting to see how people transform through exercise.
Did you happen to look at any more vids of that girl i posted? Whoa some good stuff!
Very inspiring. Yes its true I think you will not only look like her but your boobies will grow from wacking em on the bench, wait that may just be temporary swelling haha
That’s very cool seeing the transformation. That’s one reason I really like keeping a log. It really helps being able to look back and watch the progression.

The problem is not you with your training Snap. It’s that lame ass music they play in your gym. Please take them a CD of Five Finger Death Punch and tell them that they either play it while you are lifting there or you will eat their young…
That’s enough to make me think of taking an ipod to when I lift so I can have music like that.
Though the seated good mornings would also let you work your calves at the same time, if you wanted to.
you know, instead of thinking so much about a new training cycle, I think you should concentrate on new lifting shoes and outfits. I adore your pippy longstockings look when you deadlift. Just saying
Just play with weights and outfits for a couple more weeks. you’ll have fun and get rested and ready to tear shit up soon enough.
You should try deadlifting in the oly shoes. you need to pull about 2/3 of an inch farther, but I really like the positioning you get. I don’t know if it would be any fun for sumo, but oly shoes with conventional are the shizzy nit.
i think you look great now. i know you keep going on about your fat thighs, but thighs are supposed to have some fat on them, and powerlifting suits are supposed to be squished into…
i love your shoes. black is my favorite color. how were they for benching? i think the heel raise helps me get my feet wider and further back for a more solid arch / base but i’m not sure about this…
i asked about what the bench shirt was made of but she doesn’t quite remember… she thinks that she used a deadlifting suit to make it.
Well I did start a new training cycle for the big three. Started WAY light. But my main focus for awhile truly is on building base strength via my accessory work. And I’ll be squatting and benching as accessory on off days with higher reps.
Squat
5/45
5/75
Box Squats (work sets)
5/95
5/100
5/105
Reverse Band Squat
5/120
5/125
Then the accessory work. All 3 x 8.
Smith Machine Leg Press
Situps on Decline Bench with Plate behind Head
Seated GMs (chest to bench)
Step-ups to High Bench (slow eccentric)
Cuff Rolls
V-Ups
Single-Leg Hammie Curls
I’m going to try to run some sprints today down my “driveway.” Never done this before. I don’t imagine it will be a pretty sight as I’m not the sprinting type.
