Beer has vitamins and minerals and replaces the spent muscle glycogen.
It’s good on cereal too.

Man, I sure did like beer…
I used to buy these 32 oz dark beers from all over the world (had an eclectic liquor store nearby) and have one after lunch. That stuff was like food.

I made my own for years until work started having me travel alot. Matter-o-fact I still have about a mixed case of barleywine and imperial stout around from 1995. Beer is food but it goes right to my belly, probably why I got fat in the first place and why the belly roll won’t go away.
Good to see you rolling again bro!In time that belly will go away. You have made some awesome progress soldog.Keep up the good work.
Time for the arnold quote from pumping iron, “milk is for babies, when you grow up you have to drink beer”.
Another full day of moving and removing stuff from the third floor. Took out the bathroom, all the electrical outlets and switches, the carpet light fixtures, bed, furniture and the the boy started swing the sledge hammer…
I need to go back to my nice quite desk job to recover from this weekend…
Soldog you have been busy! But on the bright side, it looks like you have a firmly established fall back career.
Mine is concrete forming, pouring, and finishing…
Just kidding about the fall back career. Well yours, I was serious about mine!!

I’d rather go back to brewing beer as a fallback career than moving and construction. You hate cardio and I hate construction.

But, you do have beer in common.

Brewing would impact society much more positively than concrete finishing…
DAMN I need a better fall back career!!
Nh has the second highest alcohol consumtion per capita in the US. I think Nevada is first. So I have to drink.
Mountain biked with my buddy Mark after work today for close to 2 hours. Trying to get the riding time in before the big ride on the 5th. Weights will take a back seat until after that.
And we had a couple of beers after… rehydration, you know…
Great that you found a sport you enjoy. Good luck on the 5th.

You and MDay could start up a remodelling business. That’s work! Getting out on the bike must be really refreshing after that.

Haven’t slept well the past few days and then pigged out on large chocolate chip cookies at our staff meeting today. So going in to today’s session I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Decided to do a combo session and keep it to 20 minutes warm-up and one hour lifting. I haven’t done dead lifts since August 7. Felt like a good time to see where I could go doing heavy triples. Back on June 22 I set my one rep max at 300#, which is using all of the Olympic size plates I own.
Dead lift
135#x5
205#x5
255#x3
275#x3
290#x3
300#x3 PR reps at former 1RM
Gotta buy a couple of 45#ers
Bench Press
Bar x 20
75#x20
85#x20
Bar Bell Row/Pendley Row Trying these for the first time ever.
95#x10
115#x5
135#x5
185#x3
205#x3
Probably shouldn’t do these on a dead lift day…
Nice work on your PR soldog. The rest of your training is strong.Keep hammering away brother.
Nice DL PR!
How’d the bench press feel?

Not too bad as long as I keep the bar down over my lower sternum. Gotta be careful and get my son to help un-racking and racking.
All that shoulder rehab paying off. Great work.
