Dude, you could sell those squat boxes! Hell, use some nice hardwood and veneer, you could market to ‘The Upper Echelon Lifter’ :)[/quote]

Thanks SteelyD! It’s amazing what one can do with leftovers these days - snort…

Looking strong, Soldog. It looks like things are really coming together for you now. Appreciate your posting the videos, I think everyone benefits from the discussion.

Thanks Geech! and welcome back!

Box looks perfect doggie, and looks like you’re getting the hang of it quickly. The chins are great buddy, nice work!

Like your approach on getting comfortable with form before moving the weight up. Since you lift on your own form is even more important. You do not have someone there to give you the verbal cues that help you keep focused and safe.

Form looks solid, and so does the box…

“Squat.”
“back, back,back. Back.
“Go!”
“Chest up,elbows forward! Up,up. Push! push!”
Rack!”

Those box squats are looking good, the chins too.

Thanks Jimmy! The coaching has made all the difference for me in my training.

Not sure how high the benches at my gym are but I’m gonna try a couple of “Box” squats my next session. You’ve really inspired me.

Go for it! I’m not sure if they are more or less difficult but it sure gets a good feel for depth going.

Try standing on a couple of plates if you think the bench is too high or stack up some of those cardio step up things like Bunny did in his last video.

Went for a quick ride this evening. 8.25 miles, around 900 feet of total elevation gain, 50 minutes. Felt pretty good and was able to keep the uphill speed up higher than previously. Since I haven’t taken a ride in a couple of weeks, there must be something to this weight training business ;-}

I’m with Capacity - time for some red meat!

Nothin’ but golf this morning with my son…

Great workouts. Box squats are tough on the inner thighs. I like the pull ups mixed with the squats. Almost a complete body workout with 2 exercises.

Thanks Eco! I’m still likin’ this routine but I am hoping to be able to switch it up in the fall.

Golf again this morning with the boy and an afternoon of cleaning house.

My son is trying out for the high school golf team Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday evening is the meeting with the coach where they pick the team members and the parents pay dues so I’m going to have a inadvertent deload week.
