Sounds about right for your height.

Just watched the video. Form is looking great!

Thanks skid!
From the video, the box looks a bit high to me. You think its about right?

You could work your way down a couple inches if you wanted, I guess. Could be the camera angle, though. How’d it feel?
Edit: Phil had some good things to say on the other thread.
Lookin damn good. Really impressed by the pullups. Jealous of how easy you can get under the bar and hold it for the front squats.

Thanks Jimmy! I do feel I’ve come along pretty good since March when I joined you guys here and much of it is due to the help and encouragement that all of you offer. BUT looking at some of the training the rest of you do, lets me know I’ve only taken one small step along the road.
Speaking of volume - I kinda feeling it today as being just generally run down. Today is an “off” Friday for me and I was going to go on a ride this morning but I don’t think I’d enjoy it today.

Was he trying to say that 13.5 inches would be a better height? I’m building my box today so I think I’ll make the legs 12 inches and build the top platform up for more height.
The current height good but maybe too “good”…

Thanks Hel! I’m working on those front squats to eventually be able to do a proper clean. Only problem getting under the bar is that my collar bones stick out so much (lack of any muscle on my upper chest) that I end up killing them every time. LOL
Try using the pad for front squats it might cut down on some of the pain. Your box looks a little high if you are trying to get to parallel maybe about 2 inches. Be careful at the bottom and don’t round your lower back trying to get more depth. Your form looked good to me. Hope this helped.
Looking really solid Soldog…
Nice combination of different squat techniques, DL, and pullups. I great full-body session.
Have you seen improvement in body composition on this program?

Thanks Ironman! Using the pad on front squats is a trade between choking because of the pad pressure on my throat and brusing my collar bones. LOL
I haven’t forgotten your comments about walking it out too far. I just haven’t settled on a good setup yet that works with the equipment I have.

I think so but it is a slow process. All in all my weight has been (on average) stable between 180-185#s since mid-May. I still have my belly fat but I think I’m getting some upperbody development. The belly probably won’t go until I lay completely off the beer which just hasn’t happened yet. LOL

For me the belly didn’t go until I finally kicked my regular Coke habit. All that high fructose corn syrup was really doing a number on my abs…We all have our vices.

I hear that! Coca-cola was a major contributor to my fat over the years. I’m doing well on the high fructose corn syrup and other “junk” carbs but this belly has been around for 20 years and doesn’t really want to leave. I’m also OK with my current weight and am willing to take my time on the recomposition aspect.

If you are good with your current weight, there is no need to rush anything. I wish I could say that my belly had only been around for twenty years ![]()
But, down to the 176s, so still making slow progress.

OK, OK it’s been 25 years ;-}
I suspect that this is just a period where my body is adjusting.
