Isiah Thomas should be banned from the NBA for inciting a fight and telegraphing a flgagrant 1, in the most famous NBA arena, where the headquarters of the NBA is located.
Isiah Thomas had the same unit on the court that cut the lead down from 20 to like 11 or something, and George Karl had to keep his unit in to retake control of the game. I’ve seen plenty of teams come to the brink of a loss just this year when they get sloppy and take their starters out in the last few minutes. It used to happen to the Heat constantly.
I thought Isiah Thomas was alright before the Larry Brown situation, after which I thought he was a disingenuous prick. I now recognize that he is a complete and utter piece of shit.
If basketball really wants to clean up it’s image it needs to get tough of flagrant fouls (and fighting). There’s a big difference between slapping someones hand and clothes-lining someone trying to make a lay-up. That would get you ejected from a football game. In basketball it’s a simple foul. The other team gets 2 free shots. Big deal. How about ejecting the offender and giving the other team 3 points AND the ball? Now that’s a penalty.
And yes, Thomas is a big puss and terrible coach for saying they had surrendered. I guess he doesn’t believe in comebacks. The Knicks are doomed if that’s their attitude. And if a winning coach wants to keep his top players in a game, that’s the other teams problem. Maybe the coach wants to work on some new formations and plays. You don’t go out and try to physically hurt them. Blast the other coach in the post-game interviews, but don’t take it out on the players. And NEVER, EVER surrender.
Isaiah Thomas should be fired for NOT TRYING TO WIN THE FUCKING GAME. I think from now on he should just bring all the balls to the game, that way if his team gets too far behind, he can take his ball and go the fuck home. It works for middle-schoolers, it can work for him.
I really liked the NBA in the past, but over the last few years it has gone down hill. And, I don’t think it is because they don’t have great athletes - they do. More and more it just appears like pick up street ball games - not the big leagues.

He should be fired for that. And this is professional sports we are talking about here. It’s business.
If your team is good enough to beat another team by 80 you get your ass out there and do it! And what your feelings were hurt because you suck so badly that the other team had its starters in and, while they werent even playing pressure defense were still ending up with fast breaks and dunks?

Growing up in NY, I was a diehard Knicks fan during the Ewing years. I mean, they were my favorite sports team, period. Then they traded for Sprewell and I’ve hated them since.
