McCains behavior once again has everyone on notice. First he declares the he will enact a spending freeze for basically everything but the Vets, Defense and the War.
Then a short while later he announces (to me it looked spur of the moment) to buy back “bad” mortgages at full price (basically reward the bank for cutting the deal) and then sell them back to the homeowner at a loss. The loss would be then given to the taxpayers to pay off.
This was taken from an AP article on the debate:
As a policy matter, the plan would likely have greater support among Democrats than Republicans. Economists with the liberal Center for American Progress have been pushing a similar idea for some time.
The idea even came from a liberal think-tank. Today he was in Pennsylvania telling crowds there that if he is elected he will balance the budget. After writing a 800 Billion dollar check and then wanting to reward banks with another 300 billion dollars for their bad paper, how is he going to balance the budget.
I think he has been hanging around Lieberman too much. What do you think?
