Thanks again guys, lots of different perspectives all in all.
That is a very good perspective lol thanks.
Then since this 105-pound woman benched 230, you should have no problem beating it once you put in the work.
This 120-pound guy with polio benched 450. So maybe aim for that?!
To touch back on this:
I’d say a 205-bench at 110-120 is achievable with enough work, but I don’t see you (specifically you, not the general you) getting there in the next 12 weeks.
Wow those lifts are inspirational to say the least. And 205 is a goal, rather aim high than aim low. Reminds me of the wrestlers who are missing a leg or a a limb and dominate their weight class, because they adapted around their body.
You have me at a disadvantage, sir; I don’t get it.
Well now you sound like my coach
I watched that before districts senior year with the team, still lost . But man the whole friggin match was lat drops. Girl was hot tho.
only one way to find out.
Like I said waaaaay before. You can likely make progress for awhile without gaining weight, but honestly, this should be rather intuitive in practice. I don’t really see the need to even be having this discussion. Your ideal situation, based on what you’ve said here, is benching over 200 lbs under 115ish lbs bodyweight. So, work towards that goal. If you get there, awesome. If you don’t, adjust accordingly. You can either decide that, say, a 185 bench (or wherever you happen to stall if you don’t make it to 200) is satisfactory, and you can stay at your weight. Or, you can decide a higher bodyweight is acceptable if it’s necessary for you to bench 200. OR you might even reach a 200 lbs bench press and decide, you know what? I wanna bench 250. or 300.
Life is a fluid thing my man, something we don’t often see clearly when we’re 23. Work to get what you want now, and adjust your approach and your goals as you see fit along the way. I can promise you that this will make you a better, happier person, regardless of the specifics.
You can’t hold your mud…
Eat your burger like a man.
He’s a animal his own father has to use a live wire to keep him from fucking the fire place!
Two great songs on the sound track also
A 55kg lifter recently cleaned and jerked 166kg at the world weightlifting championships. I
understand this is a bb forum so people advise to gain weight to get strong. But let’s not diminish the achievements or possibilities for the little man.
my 2 year old daughter weighs a 1/4 of you…just eat man. get a routine down, eat eat eat, and you will gain muscle and weight. its that simple for you.
and also, you come on here asking questions, and people give you advice but it seems like you dont want it. why bother?
What’s his height?
The fact this can only be accomplished by a world champion weightlifter is proof of concept FOR weight gain.
5’7"
I was asking about the oly lifter. The tiny fellows setting world records at 55kg are usually under 5ft. They’ve already filled out their frames at that weight.
I personally think it would be more entertaining watching them being shot out of canons than watching them lift, though.
Ooops! I missed that. I got bored with the thread about 5 posts in, and was just skimming over it.
The wrestlers who are missing limbs and dominate their weight classes are doing so because if they were even with their opponents with regards to muscle mass, not having a leg would put them at like 40-50 pounds below their weight class, meaning the reason they’re in that weight class is that they have an extra 40-50# of muscle distributed across a smaller frame. No disrespect to them, of course, but this is a weird comparison.
Om Yun-Chol is 1,52m so 5"0 not 5"7, and he’s the best of the best.
Single leg advantage?
Last time I saw two guys have this discussion a wrestling match broke out.
