Let’s not forget someone said oatmeal comes from grass, therefore we should cut back our consumption of it because that is what most people might actually be allergic to.
Same as with pharma companies playing an ad for a new med, and you thinking, “Shit, I have those symptoms. Maybe this drug is for me.”
Reverse placebo effect.
I view dairy like most things. Not evil and to be avoided, but too much probably isn’t good for most people either. I don’t eat very much dairy just because in my case there isn’t a real good reason to. I have some milk in my shakes and some cheese here and there, but I get most everything I need from sources I prefer over dairy. Unless you include eggs. I’m referring mainly to milk products.
lyle mcdonald wrote a great article on dairy on his website. it was greared to contest- dieting, but it is still prevalent. www.bodyrecomposition.com/Articles/lylemcdonald-con.html
I love dairy-cottage cheese, any cheese really, milk to a certain extent.
I’m skeptical of advice that runs contrary to thousands of years of human history. People have been eating meat, veggies, and yes dairy products for millenia. Dairy is a natural part of the human diet.
Not to say that we can’t learn and improve, but I have a hard time believing that a basic food staple like dairy is the devil. I’ve seen so many food fads come and go, often promoted by “experts”. Pretty much every food has been derided at some point.
I think if people just stick to the basics of exercise and eating whole, natural foods they will continue to see progress. It’s donuts, not dairy, that get in the way of achieving your goals.
Only time I am not drinking a half gallon of milk a day is when I am cutting…
Outstanding.
I just still can’t believe through a quick glance on this forum that people haven’t caught the general conception that dairy is extremely beneficial for the body.
Granted, a very high percentage of the population has some form of lactose intolerance (I’m led to believe, that this intolerance is more of a racial inheritance). Even if this was the case, the benefits of eating low, or non-fat Yogurt is…Beyond comprehension, I still can’t believe people swear off dairy products as if it were Britney Spears’ vagina.
I’m with Professor X on this one.

This is a quick reference I’m willing to throw out to the majority of the people on this particular forum topic.
If you have the genes to process lactose, why not drink it? That’s what the genes are there for. It’s a good source of calcium - 3 servings a day.
i also drink about a half gallon a day
I have put away a full gallon at times
now its half gallon

why is this?im just curious, not criticizing.
Raw dairy is great, but pasteurized dairy doesn’t contain any of the beneficial bacterial and is loaded with hormones and antibiotics.
Cows should only be milked in the initial stages of pregnancy due to drastically increased estrogen levels in the later stages. The milk in grocery stores doesn’t even come from pregnant cows. It comes from cows who are injected with massive amounts of hormones each day to stimulate milk production. I don’t care what you pro-milk guys say. These hormones ARE secreted in the milk, and DO have a significant impact on our hormones. Not only will be it detrimental to bodybuilding, but it will detrimental to your overall health.
A good source of raw milk can qualify as extremely healthy food. Pasteurized grocery store milk is easily as bad as, and most likely worse than soy milk.

Most of the people out there that say milk is bad are so hung up on food allergies… For the love of God! If you ARE NOT allergic to milk then there is no problem…
I love milk, no problems with it… Gulp… gulp… gulp. Ahhh!

There are a lot of carbs in milk which makes it hard to fit in a cutting diet.

I eat NO dairy whatsoever unless its a cheat day. I am not lactose intolerant but I do not believe dairy to be a good choice over chicken or red meat, just easier. Don’t get me wrong, I love cheese, etc. But when trying to get hard, dairy does not help. Also when trying to gain weight, I prefer quality over ease. That’s just me though.

its an easy way to add calories to my daily diet… honestly its probably closer to 3/4 of a gallon a day right now, but thats cause my new work out partner has some insane intensity and it pushes me a lot more so I need the carbs.
I take it out when cutting because carbs are my enemy when I cut (i have figured this out over the last year or so). Also, I really enjoy my whole foods and would rather eat steak or chicken then drink my calories when I am in a deficient.
hope that helps explain it a bit.
I’m jealous of people who can eat cottage cheese or drink milk, because that shit bugs me big time. My throat tightens up and I get pain in my body. If you don’t get any reaction then consider yourself lucky and eat the stuff.
Sorry to be a Troll. But digity, your picture has got me staring for more than 3 minutes now.
Milk is for babies
