You’re brave!
More of a gambling addiction.
Sooo France is officially shutting down at midnight. Only pharmacies, food stores, tobacco stores and banks are open. No more gyms, no more work.
Thank God I have around 60 kgs of weight at home. But well I can forget heavy squats bench or deadlift (I use more than twice this) and welcome unilateral work lol
Lol use it as an opportunity to relearn TUT and unilateral movements. You can make 60 kilos feel extremely heavy if tempos slow enough. Good luck and y’all stay safe.
Welcome to the club
I spent 6 weeks on eccentrics and isometrics work so I have an idea of some torture devices. But I can forget squats or DL with such a low weight. Unilateral it is! Great, I hate nothing more and I suck at it so it might do me good
yes. very bad situation
Yeah it’s just kinda a lemon and lemonade situation.
Speed. Move it fast.
Honestly I don’t believe in speed I have tried it many times and it never really worked for me
I guess it is goal and style dependent. Just a suggestion, not a mandate!
2A bros already jerk and bounce the barbell to cheat without trying for more speed.
Since last year working like a BB with Thibs I have learned to slow down and damn it works and feels much better
Pre-fatigue. Do sets of high reps with the light weight to get the muscles exhausted before working up to the top set. Work back down too.
I’ve been keeping up with your workouts, it’s been interesting to see a program so focused on moderate bar speed, or like “smooth motion.” Slow eccentric push presses seemed especially fun!
I’m not concerned about losing gains. I havent made any in over three years.

Me too!
Fitness gyms have also been closed in my country. But I have dumbbells and a lever and I trained yesterday. The weights I can put are 50 kg, which is about 110 pounds. I can train on shoulders and arms and make split squats. I can also do rows with dumbbells, giving it more weight. I also make push-ups. It’s better than nothing to train.
While I’d very much like to have a barbell (and a home gym) I don’t think it’s okay seeing as I live on the third floor. I have however amassed some equipment over the years and think I will be fine our gyms shut down.
I have,
- A pull-up bar with varying grips
- Fat-gripz
- Kettlebells, 16, 20, 24 kg. Maybe do the 10,000 challenge. Windmills, goblet squats, Turkish Get-ups, …
- Adjustable dumbbells. Total weight: 35kg + handle and locks. I think it all fits on one handle.
- Neck-harness
- Jump-rope
- Ab-wheel
- Rice-bucket
- Two empty-buckets and lots of protein powder.
- 2 hang-boards so I can improve my grip strength.
- Home-made claspers to improve pinching strength
- An empty wall (handstands anyone?)
- Some bands
I’d imagine squats and deadlifts will suffer the most, and then the bench press, and the overhead press will not be negatively impacted at all. Vertical pulling will be fine. Horizontal pulling… maybe. 35 kilo for reps can do some damage.
You can do pistol squats and skater squats. They’re difficult for most without weight.
