Men committ suicide at a much higher rate then women. 88% of US Armed Forces Vets are men vs. 50% in the general population.
A better comparison would be comparing men and women seperately, vets vs. non vets.

Speaking of which…how do you like being a tanker? I’m entertaining the idea of being a tank officer when I go back in. I’m waffling between going back into the grunts or going tank. I’m just sick of humping but still want a good combat MOS.

I had a great time as a tank officer, got several deployments in and company command. Tanks are great at the platoon and company level. There are only a few battalions, so your career prospects after captain get pretty limited. I’ve lat-moved to intel now, I figured if I was going to be a staff guy anyway it might as well be an interested staff job.
Tank billets at TBS are limited, usually two or three a class. Let your SPCs know early that you want tanks and try to be in the top 10 of the class and you should have a shot, tanks go early in the MOS selection.
