I believe everybody should be treated as equals. I don’t have to put a label on it. I was under the impression that most would say that would make me a feminist. Maybe I am wrong.
I think there are more than the two options you proposed. I think the primary system is largely to blame for polarization of candidates. It seems that the people on the outer fringes on both sides show up at higher rates to the primaries.
I think solutions are things like rank choice voting, elimination of the primaries, and making voting dates holidays.
This is not something I have heard before. Do you have a source on this. Is this in regards to Canada? I am skeptical that Canada is letting in millions of single men from progressive European countries. I mean it seems with the population of Canada they would have a hard time accommodating that many men.
Fwiw, the instance referred to was Trudeau telling a far right nationslist, who was heckling him at a speech, that her racism had no place in the country.
This one wasn’t exactly a well thought argument, but it’s the first that comes to mind:
I’m talking about single men coming to Europe from third world countries. Are you just playing dumb or you really have no idea what is going on in the world?
She was asking when they would get back the millions Trudeau spent on increasing immigration and refugee numbers, plus welcomed to illegally cross the border.
I’m not anti-immigrant or a white nationalist, my mother is an immigrant and my wife is not white. But the way Trudeau is doing things is not working. Right now the medical system is overloaded (all refugee claimants get free healthcare, plus thousands a month for living expenses) and they have hospital beds in hallways and storage rooms these days. No new infrastructure has been built but they want to bring more and more people, it just can’t work.
Yes but the topic is comparing Dems and Republicans. To me all the things he was hating Dems for either fir the opposition or are exceeded in my mind by them.
Then you haven’t followed American politics enough. Lock her up, send them back, America hating socialists, everything else that comes out of his mouth is on the news regularly. In America when a President says almost anything it’s on the news.
While I’m not for blanket statements about “isms” constantly the use of them is not always wrong. I’m not sure how one could conclude some of the treatment and thoughts towards President Obama or Illhan Omar are guiding by much other than racism. Right now on my Facebook I have my wife’s stepmom sharing a post of Omar saying it’s from when she was being groomed as an Al Qaeda terrorist.
Good point. This was back before even attempting to have a conversation about guns was shot down though. Now if you mention guns and you’re not talking about giving kindergartners glocks it’s all about how you’re out to steal every gun out there. If someone takes Reagan’s or Rudy’s thinking now it’s immediately met with significant resistance.
Hell there was a point when universal background checks were supported by 90% of the nation and nothing happened. And people act like a Dem is going to get in office and poof guns are gone.
I don’t want to step into this section of the discussion, but speaking for myself I think part of the far left ideas rotate around “it’s someone else’s fault”. It’s certain that both parties to a lot of that of course. It’s also certain that the far right does it as well with borders, etc. Clearly that’s plain wrong.
However, I do think that parts of the far left’s particular brand has a better chance to become mainstream and it bothers the hell out of me as a center-right person.
My impression is that Trump is popular in spite of his personality rather than because of it. Am I mistaken? His domestic policies mostly make sense, definitely better than what the Dems want, the big problem is his foreign policies (Iran, Israel, trade wars with allies like Canada, etc.). Of course a lot of people only care about what directly affects them, and Trump has done some positive things for America like improving the economy.
Maybe not, I don’t really follow politics closely and regarding the US I just see the headlines they put in the news here. I hear about that stuff, but not nearly as much as people being called racist, sexist, homophobic transphobic, etc., those seem much more common, at least over here.
Not really racism with Omar since Muslim aren’t a race if you want to get technical, over here the government made some anti-Islamophobia law as they call it for stuff like that. I agree that a lot of Americans do appear to have irrational views of Muslims, but most Muslims would consider Omar an apostate since she is pro-abortion and pro-LGBT, unless Al-Qaeda has a scheme to make more Americans turn gay, change genders, and abort babies then there is no way she is part of it.
A lot of stuff that the left wing wants really doesn’t make sense, like open borders and mass immigration or allowing male transsexuals to use women’s bathrooms. I can see why a lot of people are so opposed. But the thing that both sides seem oblivious to is that people are leaving other countries because life there is unbearable, and in many cases it is a direct result of the actions of the US and allies. Stop fucking up other countries and people won’t want to immigrate, and rather than giving thousands a month to refugee claimants they could be helping to make those countries better.
Here’s a couple things that illustrate the commie/unhinged leftist lunatic thing:
And to tell you the truth, from my perspective it might actually be better for Canada if the Dems win, they never started a trade war with us like Trump did and every time the US dollar gets real low then things get cheaper over here.
Nothing stops that from happening now. It’s not hard to go in whatever bathroom you like. I travel around the state for my job but one office I go to is about 90% female. Numerous times I have went to use the bathroom and a female came out of the men’s because they don’t want to wait. In fact women have been using men’s toilets for forever as they tend to clear out faster. I’ve seen it many times at events.
Somehow the sun came up again the next day. The paranoia over this is the biggest who gives a shit ever. Been happening for forever.
Looks like you tricked me into defending Trump now.
First of all, Putin is actually supported by the majority of Russians, while there is definitely some authoritarianism going on there is has public support. I don’t like Putin, I’m Polish and if you are Polish and pro-Putin then you belong in front of a firing squad.
Most of what he said there sounds like he is trying to be friendly and positive about meeting with other heads of state, despite their obvious differences. What about all the threats he made against Kim and called him “rocket man” numerous times?
I don’t see Trump as a good guy by any means, but the Dems mostly sound crazy and Sanders is a communist.
Meh you’re posting old videos of Bernie and making apologies for Trump doing similar things within the last few years. It seems to me like you’re seeing what you want out of the comparison.
I’m not a Bernie fan but agree to disagree. Trump wishes he was a dictator and is buddy buddy to other dictators. It’s complete moving of the goalposts by the right who freaked out when Obama said he would talk to our “enemies.” Now they are fine with not just talking but falling in love.
Dems and liberals seem to think racism is ok when directed at whites. They even encourage it via their craven identity politics bullshit. Even the dimmest bulbs despise hypocrisy. And they think Muslim is a race. Most Muslims in St Louis are white Bosnians. But according to liberal loons one can’t be racist towards whites… Insert that funny meme of the sweating liberal soy boy choosing between two contradicting buttons
Obama; as much as he harmed race relations, didn’t deserve the racist bullshit he endured. This is what you won’t see from the left. Equal application of principles. Instead you get degenerate concepts saying you can’t be racist towards whites. How fucking absurd and utterly stupid.
Can you even bring yourself to admit hypocrisy isn’t a monopoly of either side ? You jump through hoops and contort yourself defending the left but cant seem to call them out on their openly anti American, racist, pro communism (not even thinly veiled at this point) class warfare (ol’ Bernie is a multimillionaire and massive hypocrite) their pandering, etc… No wonder nothing ever gets done in this country…
I sure can…and have been heavily criticized for it.
Each “side” thinks they are the holder of Truth, Justice and the American Way…while the other “side” is leading to the destruction of Western Civilization.
My issue has not been with the “purity” of either side…mine has clearly been with the way the Right treated, judged and criticized President Obama while any criticism of Trump is non-existent. This also comes within the context of abandoning many principles people said they stood for because we are “getting what we want”.
It is the very definition of hypocrisy.
Does the left do some of the same? You bet. But the stark difference in the treatment and vitriol directed at President Obama vs Trump plays itself out on a daily basis. What do you think the Right would have done to President Obama had he gone on a scorched-earth campaign of political retribution the way Trump has the past week…or used to DOJ to gain favor for one of his convicted-by-jury cronies?
Conservatives, the GOP and FOX would have had meltdowns of Biblical proportions.
Sorry bro… I see far more vitriol, invective and out right violence directed at Trump supporters than at Obama’s. Hypocrisy is plentiful all around but there are clear cut cases of one side being far more in the wrong than the other in some regards.
The msm has been full on TDS since his election. It’s tiresome.
I voted Obama his first term. He got a lot of shit he didn’t deserve and a lot that he did.
