Iphone - Cracked Screen

I know this isn’t Apple tech support, but I’m hoping that maybe some of you have some experience with this, My current provider is Bell Mobility and my phones screen is pretty cracked, i can still use it and see what i’m doing but its almost a spider web crack. I got it about a month ago and i’m pretty sure i was told my warranty covers 2 screen replacements but I’m not positive, anyone have any experience in this field and what did you do?

Any help is appreciated guys.

Go to an Apple store and see if they’ll replace it.

I’m trying to avoid paying the 199.00 if possible lol, I was more so wondering what anyone’s experience is with the warranty. Thanks though RSGZ, I’ll probably have to result to that.

Go to an Apple store and see if they’ll replace it… or phone in.

I had my iphone replaced because my silence toggle switch snapped off.

Actually,if you know a local shop that sells cellphones and consumer electronics either they can replace it and fix for as low as 20 bucks or they can direct you to someplace that does.

I don’t have an iphone but if you have a Mac warranty, it’s good. I’ve used Applecare a few times and it was hassle free.

Did you try foam rolling?

Is it the glass surface or the actual LCD?

Everything I’ve read says cracked screen = buying a new iPhone.

Yeah man! I haven’t stopped, it’s not helping.

I found a local shop that can fix it for 70 bucks, I just spoke to a friend about it tonight, thanks for the help guys.

If the glass is just broken, this:

Otherwise, you might be in some deeper trouble.

Either way, check your warranty first; if apple wants to fix it, by all means let them do so.

My screen has been cracked for over a year.

The thing is, its a superficial crack.

Like, it looks cracked but I can’t actually feel it.

Still use it, works fine

If yours is like this I wouldn’t despair, as long as the aesthetics don’t bother you.

This is like 97% what mine looks like.

If you do try to replace the glass/digitizer, just make sure you get the right one; Apple cut the front glass on the 3G and the 3GS very slightly differently, so the glass on the 3GS is just a hair smaller than the 3G. Keep that in mind if you’re looking for parts!
