Intra-workout Drink

Drink it while you are walking

Damn. So, pre workout before the gym, citrulline while walking and then Celtic salt intra?

Or could do 4g pre, 4g intra

Just put it all in your pre and drink it while walking then drink the intra while training.
What intra are you using?

I’m going to do this intra. So, citrulline in pre and drink on treadmill then Celtic salt in this intra during training?

Do pre, citruline, and salt together while warming up.
Do the intra while training.
For intra I like using something with carbs. This has 25g from mostly cluster dextrin. Goes down super easy even on leg day.

You can also try the salt with the intra. Nothing is set in stone here. Gotta play around to find what works best for you.

Overpriced for some cyclic dextrin and garbage BCAA.

I’m also kicking around the idea of doing the Surge intra workout. That will add more calories to my overall day. About 100 more. Using just the hydrating mix I posted above, that didn’t add any calories. See any issues with adding these 100 calories?

100 calories is a rounding error people can experience from spreading mayo on a sandwich too thick or using too aggressive of a scoop of peanut butter.

You must forgive me, but it appears that you fixate on these very minute details. It’s really more about consistently putting in the work. 100 calories is not going to make a big difference. Most people tend to unconsciously increase NEAT in instances where they take in 100 extra calories.

My bad. Just getting opinions and I appreciate them all! Yes, my NEAT will go up. Thanks for the insight!

I thought that. I am glad I saw your post first.

Just drink water? I enjoy a good pump. But, as written above, there is nothing special about them. Though I was watching Israetel last night, and according to him there does appear to be a slight physiological benefit.

I eat a granola bar & some dried fruit pre-workout and drink Gatorade Propel during. Seems to work.

Those carbs won’t be available for hours, no?

Maybe. I eat them in the truck on the way and it’s about 15 mins to the gym. Probably another 10 backslapping and then a warm-up.

I’ve never been a big believer in timing windows. I eat at a regular cadence to keep nutrients circulating around.

Maybe a bro science thing but I also believe activity speeds up the digestive system alongside a metabolism boost.

The actual broscience is the opposite: when we eat, it forces blood into the digestive system and robs it from being able to circulate in our muscles, resulting in reduces pumps and poor performance.

I say it’s the broscience, because I heard Layne Norton saying this has been disproven in a podcast at some point, but there’s also studies saying everything, so take your pick.

That’s an interesting take. I like Layne Norton and put a lot of stock in him. It makes sense.

Pre-workouts have never done much for me, aside from stimulants. Beta - alanine makes my face tingle which feels kind of cool.

A little food so I don’t get hungry goes a long way, and my gym is a metal building on a county road in Texas where the mini-split ac has a hard time keeping up, so I am sensitive to hydration. The Propel makes a notable difference over plain water, beyond that I don’t feel much or see any spikes to write home about in logs.

Cyclic dextrin, citrulline, beta alanine, sodium… probably a good pre. I don’t like stims pre either.

Likely what we ate the day / night before is what the body will use unless it’s something that is actually fast acting…cyclic dextrin, karbolyn, dextrose

Does anyone take Citrulline during the day? In addition to their pre/intra workout?
