Some nuance here… creatine without the carb component is likely causing more intracellular “bloating” or hydration and expansion. Whereas when people use a carb for the insulin effects it can lead to inflammatory responses, i.e. bloating and fluid retention
That “nuance” you provided would only be relevant if what I wrote was “creatine and carbs both cause water retention” The original question was about whether water retention from creatine was due to impurities.
Water retention from carbs is due to glycogen storage and it’s binding to water. Not an inflammatory response.
Interesting… didn’t know simple carbs can’t cause inflammatory responses especially well over 50 grams a day as prescribed supplement companies during the loading phase.
