Hey guys how are you so I have another topic I’m going to stay away from high stem pre-workouts and I’m going to do caffeine like coffee and what I’ve been trying to do with an intro workout which they said to use a dextrose which to me seems like I believe a sugar. Or something to do with carbohydrates I did 32 oz mix with roughly 50 to 60 g of dextrose intra and I drink a shake with banana peanut butter and just soy milk in the morning and I worked out I felt amazing but I could not finish my full drink and it felt like it was a little bit much for an intra workout is there anybody who suggests a better recipe for a pre-workout and also I wake up at 4:00 a.m. to go work out so it’s hard for me to get a breakfast. Looking to gain mass as much as mass as I can and power I am on a conjugate 531 system and everything is working fantastic and I’m gaining strength and size. So my main question is I’m trying to add on to my supplement so is an intra workout good as dextrose and how should I use it being that I wake up so early and ty
It’s unclear what your daily schedule is. You say that you wake up early to go to work so when do you train? Before work?
When are you drinking the shake? Pre WO?
I wake up at 5am and drink a protein shake and a pre-workout drink 30 minutes before I go to the gym. I own my own business, so when I get home from the gym I rest for an hour or two. For some reason, I don’t have much of an appetite after working out, so I’ve been slacking on eating a meal afterwards. i sleep good. around 9 pm every night.
So why don’t you have a proper meal in the morning and train an hour later? Then you could still rest an hour after? Seems like you are causing your own issue?
As far as the intra goes i have been using 1st detachment nutrition field rations. It’s one of the powders i’ve found to not give me GI issues while training.
If you can’t get your intra down during your training duration then start sipping it on the way to the gym.
I did just order some biotest Surge to try so i guess we will see how that goes.
Terrible combo… try Surge or Cyclic Dextrins with EAA or something

I have never tried it but I have a bag on the way. Been using the 1st detachment product as it does well with my gut especially during hard workouts. Some other intras mess writh me.
I also get up at 0400 to train, and I train fasted. I also don’t employ any manner of pre-workout, nor do I drink anything during the workout.
I’m not a fan of the idea of drinking dextrose.
I get a feeling that the reason you aren’t hungry after training is because you’re drinking a pre-workout drink, which contains caffeine, which is a known appetite suppressant, and before that you’re taking in soy and peanut butter, which are going to sit pretty heavy in the guts and most likely cause some GI upset as well (alongside that banana).
I like taking in a protein drink in the middle of the night. Before going to bed, I mix up 2 scoops of Metabolic Drive in water in a shaker bottle, put it at my bathroom sink, and when I get up in the middle of the night to pee/whatever other reason, I drink the shake. That way, I’m not TOTALLY fasted when I show up to train in the morning. After training, I have another 2 scoops of Metabolic Drive (I mix it with a little bit of water and eat it with a spoon, like pudding/oatmeal, as breakfast). From there, I’ll have ample appetite if I want to take down more food.

I get up at 4 and am at the gym by 5. I have a mix of hydrolyzed Whey and Dextrose ready when I wake up, roughly 25g of protein and 30ish grams of carbs. I’m trying to replicate the old Surge formula. I add water, shake it up, and let it settle. I drink it right before I walk out the door. 20 min drive to the gym. I usually have a “Low Test” energy drink (200ish Grams of Caffeine) with me at the gym that I drink while I work out. After i get home i have another shake similar to the one i have before working out, except with creatine.
On off days i’m lower carb/carnivore. I had to add carbs peri workout to keep from crashing out after a workout.

Ty because I get up early. Imma start doing shakes with dextrose as soon as I get up and one after I get home with creatine. Isn’t it before to have creatine before workout or after and how many grams
Just take creatine. 5g a day. Timing really doesnt matter. I just take it post workout as habit from back in the 90s. If I’m not training i put it in my coffee.

Heck ya. Maybe I’ve been doing this wrong while time. I was doing 20 grams a day! Lol
You can do that much if you’re a vegetarian or not eating much meat, but if you’re getting enough naturally you shouldn’t need more than 5g a day.

20 a day for a week or so is fine… a good maintenance dose is 5 to 10 grams a day
Man I never got anything from creatine. Don’t even put on water weight.
Anyways, to contribute to this man’s topic: I rise @ 3am, mixed 1.25 servings of Surge and top the bottle off at 32oz of liquid.
Drink about half @ 330, start training @ 350, sip some throughout and usually have about 1/4 leftover to slam.
Get home, jerk - I mean, take a shower, and then food.
1.5 scoops Ascent whey powder, 1/2 scoop Metabolic Drive, 2 servings oatmeal and a banana. Might add a big duck egg to my oats or a serving or so of yogurt. Usually hungry 2-3 hours later for steak and rice.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the water weight/bloat from Creatine was from impurities in the early formulations. Once all the higher quality brands went to Micronized I think that all went away. I don’t see any water bloat when I use good quality creatine.
